Chapter 3

# 'You think you can leave me here but I know you'll be back next year' - Sleep in the snow, yellowcard

Pay attention to the lyrics, it's actually a spoiler..

Okay here it goes#

Now that there's a face to the voice, it was indeed a man and a very attractive one

The black tuxedo fits perfectly to his body. He has a nice body structure, I noticed, lean and muscled but not overly so

His hair the darkest shade of black and it makes his eyes glow brighter

He has the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen in my entire lifetime, not the shade of it but the eye itself.

They just kind of glowed... Similar to a cat's eye

One eyebrow was arched upwards expectantly

He was waiting for me to speak

I blushed without forgetting to thank the forces out there that it was dark. Can't believe I've been gawking all this time

Okay speak, Ace, speak

Don't embarrass yourself further

"Why are you here?" Is all my jumbled up brain can come up with

"This isn't fair, you can't answer a question with a question." came a velvet like voice seemingly innocent enough but when you take a long, hard look at his face the mischievous glint in his eyes blew it off.

He knew the effect he had on me and is taking full advantage of it.

He's messing with me

"If I remember correctly, you sir, did not utter a question." I said, switching back to my formal mode sculptured to perfection by hours of intense drills and mental torture

And I was relieved to hear my voice came out strong

'To sum it up, you got shaken' A little voice inside my head snickered

'Shut it' I replied harshly

'Now I'm talking to myself, ridiculous'

"An angel without wings, peculiar."

Eyes now cold and void of emotion I questioned this insolent man, "You got a problem with that?"

"Touché" he shook his head in a demeaning manner, he brought a skinny glass of red wine which I had failed to notice to his lips and took a long sip

Before I got a chance to reply he vanished to the crowd, back into the ballroom

Oh no you don't, I dived into the sea of people and followed suit

To say he was easy to find was an understatement

How hard it is to find the only person wearing black in this ball

Apparently, really hard

Just when I was about to give up I saw him

Just standing sideways, unmoving

It was an odd sight as he was the only one who did so

He had his head tilted upwards, hands in pockets, and eyes fixated to the chandelier-decorated ceilings

What interested me the most is the fleeting unreadable emotion etched on his face, somewhere between troubled and hated

I followed his line of vision in curiosity but found nothing

Odd

His piercing eyes bore directly to mine with that same unreadable emotion, my eyes widened in shock at the intensity of it but as quickly as it came it vanished

He smirked sideways then turned swiftly blending into the crowd

He is none of my business, I thought while I made my way back to my chamber retiring for the night

But I certainly did not miss the way women stared him up and down

He's bad news

#what do you think happened on the ceilings? Who do you think the mysterious guy was?

How was this chapter, yay or nay?#
