Nico’s POV

“Nico, babe?” a hoarse voice asked and I felt a warm hand on my chest just moments after.

Looking up into a pair of beautiful sea green eyes made my mornings all the better. Percy’s lazy smile and pink cheeks made me smile brighter than before and I planted a kiss on his lips. I felt them tremble beneath mine; he had had a nightmare again but wouldn’t show it.

“Oh you fancy me again.” He had his fake British accent on while he teased.

“Yeah, you’re a kelp head, but your lucky since you’re to hot to pass up on.” I kissed him again and climbed out of bed. I stretched and yawned before going to the bathroom. I couldn’t even remember out fight the week earlier and I knew that when Percy had had his nightmares he needed the extra touches and kisses. We had learned our way around. When I had my nightmares I just needed a hug and silent whispers to guide me through the dark.

Percy needed love and roughness; he needed to be reminded that I loved him, which I did.

The view from three years ago has changed from being a red shade in the morning to a warm hazy red of the night. It was a delight to be alive and I was glad that I had survived the dark waters that once had consumed me even on dry land.

   “Breakfast?” Percy screamed.

“Doesn’t matter, isn’t it Annabeth’s turn to choose?” we had started making the kids our bosses when it came to food, especially with breakfast. So they took turns on what to eat for the day.

“Mm…” Percy replied as he got out of bed and headed for the twins room.

I washed my face and then put on a pair of black jeans before joining my family in the kitchen. Sebastian, which was an early bird even though neither Percy nor I was one, already sat by the table, silently playing with the blue table cloth.

“You okay little man?” I asked and ruffled his head as I went by him to the refrigerator.

“No daddy, I think I’m getting a new tooth.” Sebastian complained and looked down at the floor.

I took out the milk and orange juice, put it on the table and brought glasses, bowls and spoons before sitting down in front of Sebastian.

“Open up for daddy.” I said and looked inside his mouth but I saw nothing. “Where is the ache coming from?”

“Here” he said pointing at his jaw.

I smiled and traced my fingertip over the soar area; I decided not to stare at him like he was an idiot for misplacing the ache from his mouth to his jawline. “Did you trip this morning when you tried to get out of bed?”

“Yeah but don’t tell Annabeth she will mock me!” Sebastian said in a distress and tried to glance over my shoulder to see if Annabeth was near.

“I won’t big guy. You think it’ll be better if I kiss it?”

He nodded harshly with a slight pout. I smiled and traced kisses over his face and then got up. He smiled brighter now but it disappeared as soon as Percy entered with Annie in his arms.

“Does the princess want milk or orange juice?” I asked and glanced her way. She hated when I called her that but deep down she liked it, other wise I wouldn’t call her that.

“Milk, I want my teeth to grow stronger!” she screamed and reached for the milk glass that I sat down in front of her chubby fingers.

“I want orange juice daddy!” Sebastian smiled and swung with his legs.

“Make one for me too love.” Percy said while he brushed Annie’s hair, you couldn’t do it before breakfast, she would either scream or cry or even worse she would scream and cry. You couldn’t do it after either, because then she was pulling on her clothes and shoes and she would hit you repeatedly if you tried to get near her blond hair.

“Is daddy taking us to kindergarten today and picking us up after? I told Mellie that she could met you.” Sebastian looked at me with expectation in his sea green eyes.

“Sorry buddy that is dad’s job today, I have a meting remember?” I placed his bowl of cheerio’s before him and made a second for Annie.

“But what will I tell Mellie?” there was that pout again; sometimes I loathed the twins for making me feel bad about what I was doing during the day.

“That she can met me tomorrow, daddy got a test in school that day and will pick you up at four.”

“Okay!” he screamed happily and started eating.

“I don’t want cheerio’s dad promised me that there would be blue pancakes!” Annabeth screamed, the little drama queen crossed her arms over her chest and stuck her chin out.

“Well then princess, pancakes it is.” I hid away the annoyance and started cooking, it was done in ten minutes and anything that was that easy to make I could do it just to see her smile. I also did it because we had started to wake up with enough time to make an entire meal for a Greek family meeting.

Placing blue pancakes and syrup on the table was like diving in with sharks wearing a meat suit. They were going to ignore you or devour you. Annabeth was methodical and grabbed the first two and drenched them in the golden syrup while Percy almost bit of my finger trying to get to the pancakes first. He really hasn’t changed a bit but I still love him.

“Aren’t you eating?” Percy asked without chewing, that earned him a playful smack on his cheek with one of the potholders. “Aw, is the baby nervous?”

“For your information yes, yes I am.” Now it was my turn to cross my arms over my chest and stick my chin out.

“Come here.” reaching over the table he smacked a kiss on my lips that tasted of syrup and cookies.

The twins protested and smacked us both on our arms.

“Come on and finish up you guys or you’re going to be late!” I said and started cleaning the table of. Sebastian was always the first to finish so he was already climbing down the chair and raced to his room. He had started dressing himself these past weeks. He was so proud over it and would always walk around with his head held up high when he went back into the kitchen.

Annabeth rolled her eyes but followed her brother.

Percy who had already dressed sat a while longer and ate up the left over pancakes and then moved on to making out with me until the kids came back. His sticky syrup fingers tangled into my hair, and his sticky lips were almost like glue. This left us in a fit of giggles and more kisses before Sebastian poked on my bare feet.

“It’s time to go darling.” I said and kissed him again.

“One more.” He kissed me again and smiled, “one more.”

“Dad!” Annabeth said frustrated and put her arms on her hips. She was really like miniature of the older Annabeth.

“Okay, we’re leaving.” Percy said untangling his fingers from my hair that I now had to wash. He smiled and kissed my cheek before taking the kids to the hallway.

I went to wash the dishes but shortly after I had started I felt warm arms wrap around me and felt a soft kiss on my neck.

“Goodbye love, see you this afternoon.”

   “Just go you kelp head.”

“Love you.” Another small kiss that sent warmth threw my body.

   “I love you too dweeb.”
