Arden point of view

The house is oddly quiet today like nobody is in here at all, i go to check every room in my grandma house when i get to the ground floor i begin to hear keys start jinling, then the door open as i get prepare to throw of my backup daggers at the possible intruder until i notice there is no intruder except for my mum and my grandma walks inside of her house with their hands on their chest in frighten at a sight of me holding a dagger in one hand after that i lower my dagger dropping on the table in our kitchen.

"Grandma is mum staying here with us?" I asked in bewilderment.

As I am starting to run towards my mum being so in shocked to sees her here standing right in front of me holding all of her loggage between both of her hands as she soon dropped them onto the floor which was causing a thump sound other than that my mum rushes to come over to pull me straight into her warm loving embrace.

"I will let your mother tell you that by herself, but I do need to have a little chat with your father dear"said grandma, in a hurry to get the kettle started to make some tea.

I am raising one of my eyebrows at mum while looking up to seeing her pushing back the same ginger haired thus I had inherited her away from her face when leading me to walk inside grandma kitchen with a tired smile, then she finally started explaining everything about how she left dad since, she believes my dad is doing the wrong stuff furthermore, she could never stand to see my dad ruining my future life in fact that she has decided to leave him in order for her protesting against it.

"To sum it all up, your father has no right to choose what you should do or any prime factors based on your future because you are a strong independent teenager girl who should be allowed to be  in charge of her own life", said my mum, truthfully.

First of all, we are both sitting down on a chair in the kitchen catching up on anything that we could have missed out on in our life as I used to be stuck in boarding school until I escaped it right after reading my parents letters informing me about an arranged marriage contract.

Secondly, my mum is going to explain how she bumped into my grandma on her way to her friends while grandma was picking oranges from an old calamondin tree in the fields. Then, she brought up my little escape of running away from boarding school.

"Mum, I am so glad that you are here, on my side in my situation also I should probably explain why I did leave boarding school before the beginning of summer" I vented nervously to my mum.

My mum looks at me so understandingly like she has already knows this whole entire time that i has dropped out of boarding school, she did not even seem to be mad or upset about my decision to leave school at all however, she just simply smile at me as if it was not a huge deal, next she slipped out a paper form for remission slips form to apply me to a prestigious school called Creekwells high.

"I do not care about you leaving your boarding school , but I am so happy that you are in safe hands after leaving that life place"assured my mum.

Filling in the form takes me about ten minutes to finish signing up for a form in order for me to start moving to a different new school at the start of terms even though education is something that I do now to be able to pass the time there on the other hand, it is where I met my best friend since I was two years old since and then my best friend and I have been so close to each other.

"Don't worry mum, I know how to take care of myself , and when does this school start?"I asked my mum curiously.

"Your new school will start in a couple of months until then, I will have a word with Mrs Showman if she could transfer her daugh to your new school too"informed my mum.

Devi comes running down the stairs straight into the room when she hears my mum's voice talking about having a conversation with her mum about going to the exact same school as me.

"Mrs Bowden is that you?"asked Devine, shocked to see my mum.

A famous  signature hair flips my mum does whenever someone is calling out her name as she turns around to begin to address my best friend to replace her once simple smile with a surprise reaction on her face because she have not even seen my best friend for more than twice a year since back then  at the boarding school only holiday we were allowed of out school.

"Of course it is dear, I am the one and only Mereth Sheridan Bowden"greeted my mum.

The old fashioned clock on the wall dings which indicates it is lunchtime in our house before,it is time for  everyone  to eat i went in the main areas of the kitchen to go help out my grandma who made steak, mashed potatoes and greens with peach cobbler for dessert next, i take her homemade dishes to the dining room yet i went back inside of her kitchen to go grab myself a glass of water until, it is time to finally start when i went back into the dinning room to join the rest of them to eat lunch including many of multiples conversations.

I keep playing with my mashed potatoes on my plate, not even bothering to touch any more food on my plate, leaving my green beans untouched by me.

"Are you okay?Honey?"asked my mum with a frown on her face.

The hopeless mashed potato is on my plate waiting for me to eat it yet unfortunately for we can always get what we want in life no matter how much it hurts us to the point of where we are all willing to give up , but my heart keeps telling to fight all of the darkest bit of self doubt in me.

"Yes, mum I am perfectly fine" I sighed sadly to my mum.

Starting back to where I left my mashed potato again as I am about to scoop it up with my fork and then eat to prove a point that I am okay. Not needing anyone else to check up on me when deep inside I am messed up too.

"Arden, I am your mum and I will always know when you are lying or telling the truth"stated my mum.

Nodding my head so that my eyes did not even meet my mum's eyes before I went back to serving myself a small portion of my grandma's delicious peach cobbler when my grandma placed her hand on top of mine as she gave me a reassuring smile.

"Nothing, I am just so glad that my best friend Devi is going to be attending the same school as me too, also I am just happy that you are here with me, mum," I replied to my mum with a smile on my face.

After, we all went back into the living room to talk about anything until it went dark like where does the time even go quickly nowadays and then we all went to bed to go sleep.
