*Fred's POV*
It sucks Kiara being in a different year to me and house. Means we wont be able to see each other very often.
She seems to have made friends with Luna and Angus.
I never did like that kid, Angus. He seems shadowy.
Like he's hiding something.
"Hey, earth calling Fred"
George snaps his fingers in front of my face trying to get my attention.
I realise I've been staring into the fire in the Gryffindore common room for a while now.
"Is someone a little love struck over a certain little french girl called Kiara?"
"No"
I reply bluntly. George can see right through my lies.
''Why don't you just go to the Raveclaw common room and go see her?''
''Oh, I don't know, maybe because the other houses arent alowed into eachothers common rooms?''
George rolls his eyes in frustration at me. What am I supposed to do...?
''Come dear twin brother in need, let me show you something I've been working on''
I follow George up to our dorm. He shuts the door behind us and then kneels down on the floor, reaching for something under his bed.
He pulls out two pieces of parchment and hands them to me.
''So, I should write to her?''
''Not just write to her, when one person writes a message on one piece of parchment the message appears on the other and vise versa''
I'm impressed. I don't know why I'm so surprised. Well, I'm a little confused as to why he didn't inform me of this before.
''That's great!''
''And it works no matter what distnace or whether one person is in a different country. And a special security feature, you must first sign your name on both pieces of parchment and so does Kiara so no one else can read what has been previously written''
''That's genius''
Now all I have to do is find Kiara.

*Kiara's POV*
''Hey Gus, catch!''
I throw an orange at Angus and it hits him hard on the shoulder and lands on the grass under our feet.
''You're soo gonna regret that rookie move Kinn!''
''Hit me with your best shot!''
I sing in a mocking way. Me, Angus and Luna are stood near the black lake playing catch with an orange.
Luna has a powerful yet dainty throw, but 'Gus on the other hand, does not, he tries to throw the ball but it just lands with a thud on the floor a few feet in front of him.
He picks up the orange and tries again but yet again it just lands on the floor so sarcastically.
''Why can't I throw?!''
I glance over at Luna, we both know what the other is thinking. I sigh and walk over to Angus, picking up the orange along the way.
''You're trying too hard, relax. Pretend to throw something how you usually do''
Angus stands simply. He pulls his arm back and throws his arm forward like a catapult.
He's as stiff as a wooden soldier.
"Right, relax, when you bring your back you need to bend your elbow and twist your body from the hips up with the motion of your arm. Try it now"
I hand Angus the orange and he changes his stance and relaxes his muscles. He pulls his arm back, bent at the elbow, this time his whole body moves in motion and the orange reaches Luna who is quite a distance away.
"Yes! I did it!"
Angus shouts and spins me around, hugging me tightly. I don't know why he's so surprised, he's like a kid who just learnt how to ride a broom.
He sets me down gently and we stand there laughing. I feel like someone's watching us. Not just Luna.
"Oh, hey Fred, what's up?"
"Nothing just need to talk to Kiara a moment"
I cautiously walk over to Fred, he doesn't look too happy.
"Having fun are we?"
Fred has a very harsh tone in his voice. I stop a few feet away from him just so I have a clear escape incase anything happens. Oh who am I kidding, this is Fred, he would never hurt me.
"Erm, yeah, we were just playing a game of catch"
Fred smiles unconvincingly. I don't know what to feel right now, let alone what to say.
"Anyway, I wanted to give you something"
I flinch slightly as Fred reaches for something in his pocket. I hope he didn't notice.
He hands me a small piece of blank parchment. I take it cautiously and stare at it for a while before Fred explains what this is all about.
"When one person writes on one piece of parchment the message shows up on the other, so we can still keep in contact with each other even if were in two different places, or in this case houses"
That's actually a brilliant idea, I love it.
"That's a great idea-"
"- wait I almost forgot, you need to first write your full name on the parchment so the only person who can see the conversation is you and I can see it on this piece"
That's clever.
"I'm impressed. I should get back to my friends-"
"-Hey-"
Fred grabs my arm a little too firm that it kinda hurts. I don't know if he's being playful or of he means it.
The look in his eyes tells me otherwise.
"-remember, I love you"
He then kisses me on the lips and walks away. It would have been a romantic moment if he didn't have a firm grip on my arm and a harsh, threatening tone in his voice.
My hands are shaking slightly and I can't move. I'm scared.
