Gwyn couldn't help those tears which were falling on her cheeks. Soon tears dried, she felt numb. Felt nothing. Gwyn thought she could never be broken like she was in past, but what Azriel did-
Gwyn cared about him, too much, but it didn't stop her from telling him to get out. She couldn't face him, didn't want to look in those beautiful hazel eyes, before Azriel left- when their gazes held, Gwyn's chest sparkled, she always felt so lost in his eyes, but to be so broken in front of him... especially when it was his fault.
How could he? She trusted him so hard and he betrayed her, because of her second Archeron sister. By the look at Elain's face, when she saw the necklace, Gwyn could tell she thought the same about how Azriel could hurt both of them. Not to mention, Elain was mated.Gwyn couldn't breathe anymore. Too much overthinking might be the end of her. She opened the window and breathed hard, trying to calm herself down. She heard how the door opened, didn't bother to look who it was, only praying to Cauldron ', not Azriel'.

-"Gwyn?"

A soft voice came behind her, she looked from her shoulder and saw Balthazar.

-"Hey, are you okay?"

he asked and Gwyn nodded, not looking at him,

-"Nesta said Majda will come in five minutes. Does your injury hurt?"

'Not like my heart' she laughed in her mind. Before she could answer, the door opened again and a beautiful female stepped in. Majda.

-"Hello, Miss Berdara. It will take only ten minutes and I'll leave."

Gwyn - without a word obeyed everything Majda said. Balthazar watched her carefully, Gwyn knew by her look in their eyes, her friend already thought something. Some reason why Gwyn looked so pale.

She thanked Majda before she left. Balthazar had hands in his pockets, studying her carefully.

-"Gwyn. What did Azriel say to you?"

he asked, Gwyn's gaze jerked to his,

-"Azriel?"

-"Gwyneth. He has the last person you saw one hour ago, and now I see you standing here: with red eyes and dried tears on your cheeks. I'm not dumb."

 He sighed,

-"I always know when my friend has a problem, so... spill. Without lies, please."

Gwyn almost smiled at Balthazar's words. She needed to talk to someone now because in her heart she was keeping too much. So, Gwyn breathed hard and started talking. Told him about her past, that night horrible night, about the necklace and her 'feelings' to Azriel. And when she finished telling, Balthazar stood there speechless. He took a shaky breath and then hugged her.

-"Gwyn- Cauldron, I'm so sorry."

He drew back,

-"And Azriel- Oh my... Why he did it? I know he never meant to hurt you. Honestly, also I can say, I think he could slice his own throat before he'd hurt you."

Gwyn laughed flatly. Balthazar said with a serious tone,

-"Don't laugh. You don't see the way he looks at you, and I do." Gwyn stared at the floor. In what way he looks at her? with pity? or he looks at someone who can be a replacement for Elain?

-"If he cared about me, Balthazar, he wouldn't do that to me."

Both of them were silent for a while. At last, Balthazar shook his head,

-"No, he definitely has soft spot for you."

 then murmured under his breath,

-"Why are both of them so dumb..?"
