11. I'M DYING
——
yuzuha watch luna and mana tend to their brother who's sleeping on his bed, sick. she paced back and forth, biting on her nails. she don't know if she's suppose to tell you about him or not because he's just your ex.
in the end, she sat back on the sofa, letting the two girl finished changing their brother's clothes.
what has led yuzuha inside mitsuya's house? simple. she was just about to go to mitsuya's clothing line and see if he's doing fine and instead was directed here by the workers there, saying that their boss fell ill.
"do you want to eat dinner?" luna asked her, sitting beside yuzuha.
"oh, how about you? should i cook for you?"
luna looked at her sister then back at her, "if you don't mind one-chan, then please."
yuzuha stand on her heels and proceeded to go to the kitchen and cook dinner, she also made porridge for the poor man. she knows that he failed to take care of his health because of the emotional baggage he's still carrying.
she went inside mitsuya's room and she saw him already sitting on the bed, though still in daze. silently, she approached him and sit at the edge of the bed, sighing to make her presence known.
"how's your fever?"
without looking at her, he answered, "didn't even feel a thing."
"mitsuya, your sisters are worried. if you don't want to do this for yourself, do it for them... for me."
this time, he faced her, "i'll try, thank you." but he wasn't sure because yuzuha isn't y/n.
—
after work, you were decided to go straight to the library, browsing through books and you borrowed at least three books about soulmate. you weren't fond of those kinds of books before but now you're suddenly curious.
as you went out, you saw draken with his car, "y/n."
you narrowed your gaze at him, "you're here again? you're every where."
"are you free tomorrow? how about tomorrow's lunch?"
"... fine. tomorrow then." you're still his friend and he was also the reason you were able to meet mitsuya.
as arranged, both of you were eating on a cafe near a high school, the place wasn't too crowded maybe that's why draken choose to eat there.
"what's that you're reading?" draken asked, pushing the book down away from your face.
"records about soulmates and studies about heartbreaks."
"hmm," he didn't pry more as your face blatantly flashed a 'do-not-bother-me' warning sign.
you proceeded to read further and the section that greatly caught your attention was: 'once the red string turns black and cut into two, one of the soulmate will suffer, they'll feel all the pain felt by the other. if one is sick, they'll feel the pain brought by that sickness even if they're not sick. if the other had wound, the cut, bruise or injury will also be visible on the partner's skin.'
it explained all the sudden and illogical pain and wound you got before, as well as the feeling of having a fever, it was all because your senses were already connected to mitsuya.
knowing this made you far more guilty, knees shaking under the table. that means, he was hurt— and always been, and you haven't even been on his side to treat him and take care of him.
draken whipped his head towards you when he heard you sob, "shit, what happened?"
you swatted his hand that was about to wipe your tears, "i'm fine... but mitsuya isn't."
and as you said those words, you felt as if someone was staring at you outside the cafe. you look around you (since the wall was made out of glass) and you were certain that you caught a glimpse of mitsuya's figure.
"use this." you just looked at the tissue draken offered you, you couldn't careless about your tears trickling on your chin. what matters is mitsuya. damn, the more you read about the book, the more you regret losing him in your life.
when you got home, you went to the bathroom to wash your face and as you rub across your chin, you felt a sting in your wrist.
quickly, you looked at it and saw how a cut slowly appeared on it, blood immediately swelling out, dripping on your arm.
"shit, shit, shit—" you were in panic, quickly running out the bathroom and clicking random contacts in your phone. you just needed help!
"hello—" draken's voice echoed in the room once the line connected, but you didn't give him time to utter his greetings.
"help me! i think i'm dying!"
over reacting as it may sound to anyone, it still made draken run towards your house, bursting in your door. once he saw you almost lifeless, laying on your floor, blood spilling around you... he didn't think twice and took you to the hospital while cursing all the gods.
but you didn't even care if you run out of blood or died there on the spot, what you were too worried about is mitsuya, because you know that cut came from him.
he couldn't possibly be—
