0.7: The Number

I woke up in the middle of the night, not be able to sleep. I keep replaying the events from earlier over in my mind and I cringe. I get up out of my bed and walk downstairs only to find the Tv on and Jake sitting in front of it.

"Hi." I said awkwardly. His head turned towards me.

"Hey, what are you doing up?" I sat down next to him and leaned against him.

"I just couldn't sleep that's all. It's all good. " I could tell he didn't believe me.

"Are you going to tell me what's really wrong now?" I let a sigh. "You've been acting different since we got home from the mall, what happened?"

"Fine, when we were at the mall I saw a girl from the orphanage that used to bully me. The first time I saw her she didn't notice me, but when I went to the bathroom she was there and she started hitting me and then she.." I cringed.

"What? What did she do?"

"She spit on me." He jumped off the couch and looked like he was about to murder someone.

"She fucking did what?!" He yelled.

"Shhh keep your voice down you're going to wake everyone up."

"No I don't care about that right now. I care about you and what happened. Why didn't you tell us?"

"Well, I didn't want to worry you guys over it. I'm fine, it's not that big of a deal."

"It is a big deal because you're like my little sister and I don't want to see you hurt." He sat back down. "You're going to have to tell the others you know that right." I nodded at him and looked down. "Of course not right now, but in the morning we will."

"Okay, is it cool if I sleep down here."

"Of course it is, if it'll help you sleep." I got up and moved to the other couch and laid down. "Goodnight Lyric."

"Goodnight Jake."Finally I was able to fall asleep.

"Lyric." Someone was trying to shake me awake. "Lyric get up kiddo." I opened my eyes and Ashley was there looking down at me. "Jake told us what happened."

"He did?" I looked around and everyone was sitting there.

"Sorry Lyric. I felt it would be easier on you if I told them."

"Thank you Jake." He smiled and I looked back to Ashley. "I'm fine really, it isn't that big of a deal."

"But it is. None of us want you hurting. We care too much about you and it would kill is if something happened to you. And I'm sorry about what I'm going to say but I looked through your phone." Ashley took it out of his back pocket and gave it to me.

"Why didn't you tell us this was going on sweetie?" Dad asked.

"I don't want to worry and annoy you guys with all of my problems. I thought I was going to be able to handle this on my own but since you guys found out, well, there's nothing I can really do."

"Yes there is." Andy interrupted. "I have an idea. We can have the number tracked down and we can find out who is texting you."

"That actually isn't a bad idea." Everyone agreed to it and we went to the police station to ask if they could help us track it down. An officer showed us what to do and we thanked him.

"Guys it looks like it's about an hour away from here." I said. "I think we'll be able to go if you want to."

"Of course we're gonna go. I'm gonna find out whoever this is and make 'em pay for what they're doing." Jake said.

"Easy there, we're not going to result to violence just yet."

We got to the town and I was surprised at where we were.

"Guys this is where the orphanage is." I said a little worried. "Actually I think the number is coming from the orphanage." A chorus of 'whats' came from all of the guys and no surprise it really was traced back to the orphanage.

"You ready to face the person who's been behind all this?" Andy asked me.

"Yeah let's just get this over with." We walked inside the orphanage and followed the little arrow that's been tracing the number this entire time to a room that seemed familiar, but I couldn't remember. I opened the door and my jaw dropped at who's has been doing this all. The one person I thought was my friend.

"Hannah?"
