(Hi guys! This fic will be a bit more clean because of the heaven/hell concept. Therefore no smut and little swearing. It's probably a good thing for me xD also this is kinda inspired by Oblivion by Bastille but it's just loosely based on that, so...not a song-fic. Anyways, enjoy!)

***ALSO SUPERFRUIT REPLIED TO MY QUESTION ON FB TODAY AND I DIED. OKAY THANKS

       The last thing I remember of my old life was kneeling down in the middle of the busy highway in the pouring rain, as I looked on at the two huge headlights speeding my way.

~~~~~~~
        I jostled awake laying on a flat surface, although I physically felt fine. All around me was undistinguished brightness. Am I in a hospital?
         After rubbing my eyes with my palms, my vision cleared to see that I was in fact not in the hospital, but in a moderate-sized room made of clouds....Yes, clouds. The walls swirled around me and as I stumbled on my feet up to touch them, I felt not the clouds, but a thick barrier surrounding them. Fuck, I have to be dreaming.
         In the cube-shaped facility, there was an open doorway that light was pouring through. I decided that since this is, in fact, a dream, there would be no harm in walking out there, right?
        I strolled the five feet to the exit and stepped through, squinting my eyes at the intensity of the luminous surroundings. The first thing I was met with were multiple other cube-like shelters, all made of the foggy substance, in a neighborhood setup, with cloudy walkways, that from what I could tell, went on forever. A few people were walking down the paths, all different races and genders, all in different styles of white clothing.
        A pretty blonde girl in a white dress came rushing over to me. "Did you just arrive here?" I looked at her face closely and gasped when I noticed her glowing white eyes. Remember this is all a dream.
"Yeah, but this is all a dream anyway. But where is here exactly and why are your eyes white?" I asked her, becoming confused at her shaking head.
       "First off, my name is Kirstie and this is Oblivion. None of this is a dream. You died and this is where you ended up because you were a good person in your mortal life. We are guardian angels and we have to save a certain number of lives to make up for our sins on Earth before we can move on to Heaven. And as for our eyes, we do not have irises because we are not connected to our bodies in the way that humans are. We instead are connected to Heaven more so and because of that, our eyes shine with the light of Heaven."
      This is not a dream. You have to be shitting me, I thought, unable to come with the terms. Wait, do I have those eyes too?
       "No, I am not. You are not alone. All of us had trouble accepting this. And yes, your eyes are white and luminous as well!" Kirstie smiled warmly, comforting me a bit.
"Wait, how did you know what I thought? Did you just read my mind?" I asked, my mouth gaping.
        "No, silly. You said it aloud!" She giggled, making me blush and grin along with her. "Come with me...what's your name?" Kirstie grasped my hand and we started walking towards a larger cloud structure.
"Scott. Scott Hoying," I answered her as I inspected every little detail on our trek. "Where are we going now?"
         "Well, Scott, we are going to get you registered here so you can find out how many lives you have to save, where you will live, and which other guardian angel is your partner. We work in pairs in case we come across demons, because two is better than one in that battle, trust me."
"Demons, what do you mean demons?" I asked her, terrified.
          "Well, they are the opposite of us. As we are on our way to Heaven, they are on their way to Hell. They entice mortals with sins and death, and we save them. Although they are always a danger to us because they learn black magic in order to hurt or even kill our souls. So that's why we are in partners. And also to help show you around here."
"Oookay, that's not too much to handle," I replied sarcastically.
          "Oh and by the way, you may or may not fall in love with your partner. It's kind of a half and half split for our kind. I fell in love with mine, Jeremy. Right now, he's on a group mission with some of our friends, Avi and Kevin."
"Oh fun. So I could possibly fall in love here?"
          Kirstie's shoulders shrugged. "Yeah I guess so!"
          I sighed as we reached the taller structure and went inside the doorway. Inside, it was designed like an office, with all of the furniture made from condensed water vapor. There was a large desk in the back and that's where Kirstie left me.
          "Good luck Scott! I will find you in a few hours!" She waved, jogging out the front.
"Thank you Kirstie!" I waved back and faced towards the older woman at the desk.
          "Name please?" She asked, pushing her glasses up on her nose.
"Scott Hoying."
          "Ahhh we've been waiting for you to come to. Okay Scott, you will go down the hallway to your right and look for the doorway labeled A-7. Esther will be waiting for you in there."
"Thank you ma'am." I proceeded down the right corridor and mentally counted off the door numbers. A-4, A-5, A-6...Here it is. I glanced up at the gold lettering above the open doorway and stepped inside, awaiting my next step into Oblivion.
(So do you guys like this? I feel like it's a really different concept and I had the basic idea in my head but I didn't know what to do with it. And then BAM, IT SHOULD BE A FIC. So here we are.)
Love you guys and stay sassy :*
