I apologize for the speed and the choppiness (and overall crappiness), I'm really just trying to get to the plot now that the characters are established. And I'm going to attempt to update one of my other stories tonight.
"Scottie?" I felt kisses being pressed all over my face.
"Mmm yeah, babe?" My eyes slowly fluttered open to reveal my angel hovering above me with an adorable grin.
"We have to go on a mission today."
I sat up on my bed and yawned loudly. "Do we have to, Mitchie?" I whined, waiting for a cheeky response.
"If you ever want to get your a$$ to Heaven, then yes, Scott, you have to!"
"Alright, alright. Are we going now? Or can we snuggle for a little bit?" I observed his face as the gears in his beautiful mind turned, considering my offer.
"Ugh, fine. C'mere." I grinned and scooted over to Mitch, wrapping my arms around him tightly and kissing behind his ear, ever-so-slightly, just to tease him. After listening to his speedy breathing, I chuckled and received a slap in the chest.
"Hey! What was that for?"
The brunette lifted his head up to mine and glared playfully. "Scott Richard Hoying, do not feign innocence. It is much too late for that."
"I have no clue what you are talking about, Mitchell Coby Michael Grassi." His chocolate eyes narrowed at me and I abstained from giggling until he turned away, then which I burst out laughing.
I felt the loss of warmth from my side and groaned. "Baby, come back! You can blame it all on me!"
"First of all, I despise that song. Second of all, nope, you have to get up."
"Unfair," I mumbled, hopping out of bed.

Three hours later, we had managed to save two buses from wrecking into each other. Mitch saved thirty-two on the one bus and twenty-one for me. That meant I only had twelve left. Although, there's no way I'm leaving without Mitch.
On the walk there, he told me that once a guardian saves the number of lives that they need to, God will communicate with them and pull them up to Heaven. I'm awaiting that moment, but it will only happen with Mitch by my side. There is no other option in my book.
Now, we are back at the apartment and currently, Jeremy and Kirstie are here, along with their white Husky, Olaf. They had just adopted the stray dog after finding it wandering around in the afterlife.
Mitch certainly enjoyed the little bundle of energy and I decided there and then to get him a pet.

That night, I had faked falling asleep in an easy escaping position, laying on my stomach with one arm wrapping around Mitch's center. When I was positive the small man was deeply in slumber, I gently removed my arm and scooched off of the bed, tip-toeing my way out of our home. I made it to the pet residency and entered through the large steel gates, cautiously proceeding forward.
I had passed many rambunctious dogs and prissy cats before I found in a small carrier, a small, gray Sphynx cat, curled up in a ball and snoozing by itself. Somehow, I could feel the loneliness radiating from the small feline, and I knew Mitch would immediately latch on.
I lifted the carrier and soothed the now-awoken kitten, gently stroking its skin with the only finger I could reach through the caged door. It calmed down quickly, purring and nuzzling into my finger.
I took it and went to the town hall to get the paperwork done, and the employee told me its name was Wyatt and that on Earth, he was abandoned by his owners and run over by a car on the side of the road. This news caused my heart to break, because how in the world could anyone abandon this little kitty?
I thanked the worker and made my way back to our home and let Wyatt out in my old bedroom so he could get accustomed to the new environment. I let him prance around and when he settled on the cloudy bed, I left the room and made my way back to the sleeping brunette in the next room.
The bed gently dipped under my weight and Mitch immediately snapped awake with a frenzied look in his eyes, residue from a lifetime of nightmares. I soothed his nerves and kissed his temples, lulling him back to dreamland. When, and only when I heard the soft snores escape from his parted lips, is when I let myself relax and fall into a deep slumber, accompanied by my love.
