One hour, two hours, three then four
My eyes flutter to and fro
Glaring at the pages that implore my mind
To not continually invest in my sighs
But lacking the desire
I find the struggles rummaging out of line
And it's a pride we seek
Yet we face a devastating defeat
When, as a student, we wanna be
More than just what we see
On the pages marked 'Test'
Showing results that's not the best
But what can we say?
It's the way knowledge works its way
And the need to confine
Often makes us step out of line
Though we gotta learn to stand in our faith
Showing Jesus to the rest of the human race
Because the times shake our hearts and brains
Letting us desire wealth and gain
Yet it's the same that brings our shame
Enough of all my rhyming
I've run out of time
After all the life of a student
Is a constant rush in a mental-type-of grime
Yet mind over matter despite studies feeling like an adder
