Thandi & I had just been sent home early from school for starting a food fight in the canteen- I mean it was the last day before summer holidays, so we didn't care.
"But did you see Fat Bill slip and drop from the banana." Thandi was dying as she stopped on the road laughing from tears.
"BROO how about Mr Holden, that man was bout to turn into a raspberry from all that anger." At this point we were gonna piss ourselves from laughing.
"Man, time is moving wayyy to fast- shit Nolan I feel like time is just moving past us." Thandi went serious out of the blue.
"Well we got to enjoy it, summer holiday is here & we need to make the most of it before I got for basketball camp in America." I sighed.
I was really excited to be given this opportunity, but me and Thandi were inseparable. I was dreading leaving her behind.
"I love you Nolan- we are 4lifers bro." She cheesed
"I love you more T." I smiled, if only she knew I loved her more than our "bro" and "sis" relationship. I wanted her.
We continued walking home slowly avoiding hearing it from our parents , as we knew the school had already snaked us to them before we even left. As we approached the estate, we noticed that new people were moving into a flat that had be unoccupied for years.
"Shit, guess today Katie the crackheads spirit is finally departing from the flat." Thandi laughed
A well known crackhead used to live in the flat, but she died from an overdose & the flat has been empty for many years as people were scared of her "Ghost".
"Fuck, I wonder who's going into that junkyard." We decided to be nosy and linger around the flat.
"No. fucking. Way. Nolan look at who it is!" Thandi was shouting, I had to nudge her so we couldn't be heard.
It was that guy called A1east. He was known in ends for being a troubled Yute, he would hang out with the elders in Brixton and was their runner from young. Word on the road was that he got kicked out of many schools & that he also Killed his own father when he was 8. He was feared in Brixton , and now he was moving right into our estate.
"Let's go T, his trouble. Don't need you near this shit." I tried to push her away but noticed she was locking eyes with him.
"He is fucking leng." Her eyes glistened as she still kept her eyes on him.
I finally managed to pull her away, but as I looked back- I noticed donny was screwing me. I didn't need him to be here, not especially since I was going away for 6 weeks. Thandi needed to be careful, and I was jealous that she was even checking for donny like that.
If only Nolan knew, this was the beginning of him loosing Thandi.
