*Flashback*
It was 11pm and I was baking of with my bro Malik in our block, I was billing a zoot & bro was trying to help me with this new tune I was working on.
"You're hard still". Malik spudded me after I spat some bars for him.
"Come on bro , you know it". We both laughed as we were both fried as fuck, our laughs were stopped when we heard some shouting from Thandi''s flat.
"Bro , I swear that's coming from your girls place?". I deaded my zoot and we quickly jumped off the stairs we were sitting on and dashed over to see what was going on.
"Thandi, you're a disgrace to this family! You've tarnished our family name! That stupid boy has influenced you into believing that music will take you somewhere! Buda pamba pangu, enda unoita music yako pamba pako (Get out of my house and do your music elsewhere)". Her father was throwing her stuff from the window and was pushing her away from their flat door.
"Dhedhi (dad) please! This what I love to do, I promise I'll do well . I promise you'll be proud of me!". Thandi was kneeling in front of her father crying out for him to hear her plea.
"Thandi I gave you one month to make something out of your stupid music , now look! You're refusing to go back to school , so therefore I'm done with you! You and your sister have continuously disgraced me with your stupid dreams , and I will take no more wanzwa here Thandi (are you listening Thandi)!". Her father harshly spat at her after disowning her, her mother was now pleading with her father to take back his decision whilst Thandi was crying . At this point the whole block had come out to see the commotion.
" Fuck this shit, I'm going to bang him". I angrily stormed to Thandi's flat to give her father a piece of my mind, Malik tried to stop me but I wasn't having it.
What type of father would disown his daughter for pursuing her dreams? Thandi wasn't like any of this j-bags from the block, she was different , talented and all she wanted was support. Her father had been blocking her from maximising her potential in this music ting , to the point where she even wanted to give it up to make him happy . I wasn't going to let him ruin her dreams . She was a superstar. We were going to be big & he didn't see it.
Even her older sister Kara, had left their yard just because their stupid father wouldn't let her pursue her dream of being a Dj and producer. After that all the expectations that Kara failed to meet were being placed on Thandi, and she had been suffering.
" Big man , I dare you to touch my girl again and watch what I'll do to you". I squared up in her dads face to show him I wasn't playing. I was sick of him.
" Cain stop! Just leave it! Baby please". Thandi was trying to pull me away from her dad , but I weren't having no one - even her dad disrespect my girl.
