I'm so confused... Is he really trying to kill us? I looked at the ground with furrowed eyebrows. A few moments of silence were shared with everyone in the gathered area. That's when I heard faded yelling from a distance. "Sir!... SIR!" a young man who had to be in his early 20s ran onto the stage where the commander was standing. He places his hands on his knees while looking at the ground, panting. "...sir... I screwed up." The man said, breaking his gaze from the floor, and locking eyes with the commander. "Screwed up? What did you do??" The young man then whispered into the commander's ear. Must've been something frightening because it looked like the commander's heart dropped from the looks of it. Commander cleared his throat to fill the silence that was suffocating the room. He then ran his fingers through his white wispy hair and situated himself back near the microphone. "It seems we're having some... minor inconveniences...," He then cleared his throat again. "There are cabins you all can stay in. You'll meet someone outside the cabins. He'll tell you your cabin number. Assembly dismissed."Everyone started to part ways from the crowded area. My feet stayed planted in the perfectly kempt, green grass. I didn't know where the cabins were located. I looked around to see everyone heading in one direction, so I just followed after them with light steps. After walking for what seemed like forever, everyone stopped in their tracks to greet a man with a list in his hand. "Alright, single file." the man commanded. Everyone obeyed and walked up to him one by one. Once they were given their cabin numbers, they went to go explore and find where they were gonna be staying. After most everyone got their numbers, it was my turn. I walked up there with my hands in my pockets and my gaze intensely staring at him. "Name." he ordered."Bella Jessmer." I said in an uninterested tone. "Jessmer, you're in cabin #71. Get going."I started walking to where I thought my cabin was located. There sure are a lot of cabins in this place, considering there are a lot of people here. Soon enough, after a lot of walking, I was greeted with the number "71" on the front of the wooden cabin. I sighed. I walked up the wooden steps up to the door and opened it. ...people? He never said we'd have more than one person in a cabin... when I opened the door, two people laid there on the bunks, one on the top bunk, one on the bottom bunk. The cabin was dimly lit with only 3 candles lighting the neatly kempt room. There were two bunk beds. There was enough for 4 people to sleep in here. One of them shot their head up to greet me with an excited face. "New roomie!" I froze. I felt my pupils get smaller as my eyes were getting wider. I frowned. "Aw, don't look so excited buddy." Said the other one, who was still on the top bunk, now sitting up to look at me. I recognized the excited one... Syiah... "Hey... I know you! Jessmer, right?" She asked as she put an arm around me. "Don't touch me." I said sternly, knocking her arm off of my shoulders. Syiah just shrugged her shoulders. I looked around the room carefully, examining the place I'd be staying in. As I was looking at the quality of the beds, I met the eyes of the girl on the top bunk. She then flinched as she said, "Oh! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Emmi Gaze. Nice to finally meet you." I stood there, staring at her. I caught myself spacing out, so I shook my head. "Nice to meet ya, too," That name sounded familiar... "Wait, you're the one commander called on when we were having that assembly." "Yep." She said confidently. I walked over to the bottom bunk and sat down. I was just beginning to get drowsy when Syiah caught Emmi and I's attention. "So~... what do you guys think commander meant by eleme-" She wasn't able to finish her sentence because at that exact time, the same guy who gave us our cabin numbers came in to tell us it was supposed to be lights out. "Loud 'n clear." I yawned as he closed the door. Syiah grunted then blew out the candles.
What a weird day...
