That night when everyone went back to their dorms, I felt weird as I laid my head down on the soft, cushioned pillow. I mean... I should feel good. Syiah let me have top bunk. Well, she didn't LET me, I threatened her. But... there felt like something in my body wasn't agreeing with me too well...
Suddenly, I got a ripping, sharp pain in my stomach. I tried laying on my stomach with my butt in the air to soothe the pain, but it just didn't go away. I couldn't shake the feeling no matter the position or the pressure I put on it. I groaned in pain silently. I couldn't sit still, so I kept changing positions. Abruptly, I got THAT feeling. The feeling that you know you're gonna throw up.
I swiftly threw the covers off of me, forced the door opened and ran outside. I bent over letting it all out, not caring if it gets in my hair. Even after all the pain of throwing up, it still felt like someone was driving a dagger through my stomach. I held my stomach and put as much pressure on it as I can. I harshly rammed my skull into the ground, grunting, while still holding my stomach.
I've never had a stomach ache this bad in my whole entire existence. What's going on down there? Was it something I ate? WHAT IS IT?!
I looked down at my hands and the inside of my palms. There was a huge gash in the center of my palm. It looked like someone had burnt my skin and then decided it would be a good idea to cut it open and take the skin off. But that wasn't the only weird thing about it.
My eyes widened and I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. The gash was glowing gold and black? I sat there staring at my palm for a good 3 minutes. That's when I heard the cabin door open.
"Bella? It's 5 in the morning." Syiah said, rubbing her eyes groggily.
I sit there looking at her, eyes wide, pupils small, mouth half opened, and worried about what was going on with me.
"U-uh... Yeah, I- uh- cool? I don't give a shit. Close the door behind you." I said, heart racing.
Syiah sighed, and my face reverted back to the usual blank stare.
"What's up with you, Bella? You're acting weirder than usual. You can talk to me-"
"You wish."
"Fair." and with that, she closed the door with a yawn.
I lifted up my hand to look at the gash in my palm one more time, but it wasn't glowing anymore.
In the morning, we all got up out of bed to go back to the training grounds in time so we don't have to run 'til the sun goes down. Syiah looked paler than usual. Was she scared of our battle today?
"Syiah. Let's get started. alright?"
"Okay..." She responded.
We got in our usual positions and started to draw out our weapons.
"We're gonna actually battle today, mk?" I said as my sword started to appear.
Syiah flinched.
"H-huh?? No... I don't wanna." she rejected, waving her hands in a motion signaling she didn't want to.
"That's a shame. Anyways, you better keep your guard up, you never know where I'll appear next." I taunted.
I started sprinting at her slowly, giving her time to comprehend that this was actually happening. She weakly moved out of the way, as if she didn't have any energy. I then changed my course in my direction and started to head straight for her. I shifted weight to my leg that was digging into the dirt, then lunged off of the ground to get some speed. Once again, it was the same thing. She dodged weakly as if she was afraid of me.
I sighed and put my humungous sword away to make it fair. As soon as I did that, her face changed into a face I never thought I'd see her make. She came at me sprinting with all she had.
So... she's finally trying, huh? All because she was afraid of my sword... heh.
I ran over to the woods behind me, jumped up near a bigger tree, and kicked off the tree to change my direction so I could throw Syiah off. I purposely let my body hit the ground agressivly. I was tumbling on the ground when I used my upper body strength to throw myself upright. I was left with my legs planted firmly apart with one hand on the ground as I stared at the ground. I then looked up to see Syiah looking at me, determined.
Syiah then came running at me with full speed, her spear ready, and eyes full of rage.
I shifted my gaze back to the ground. I lifted up my hand slowly, then with the most speed and force I could muster, I smacked the ground, confirming that this was my ground. I then heard a bone-shattering crack. Still looking at the ground, I popped my head up, only to be greeted with a gold and black patterned sharp rock that looked like an upsidedown sharp tiger tooth about 15 feet high, surrounding me in a circle, with only about 3 inches apart until the next wall was there. It looked like I was in a cage.
My eyes widened and my mouth dropped. I was frozen stiff.
W-what the HELL? Those colors... They look exactly like the colors I had seen on the gash on my palm last night... What the hell is going on??
"Syiah! SYIAH CAN YOU HEAR ME??" I heard the commander shout from outside the cage I was surrounded by.
How... did I do that? Did I control that? What kinda power is THIS?
I walked out of the cage by walking out of the 3-inch spaces. I will never forget what I saw.
"Syiah..." I breathlessly whispered in shock.
