I woke up at the break of dawn. The cabin was softly lit from the sun rising, and the only thing that could be heard was the soft inhales and exhales coming from Emmi and Syiah. I laid there, hands behind my head and my body stiff as a board, waiting for those two to wake up. Suddenly that man opened the door again and blew an airhorn into our room as he shouts: "Wake up! Come to the open space outside headquarters when you get dressed and cleaned up." Syiah and Emmi flinched so hard, they nearly fell off their beds. Well... Emmi actually did... "Owwwhh... ughh.." Emmi groaned. I burst out laughing while slapping the side of the bunk twice. "Hey! Imagine that was you! I could've died!" she yelled. "Butcha didn't." I smirked while holding in a laugh. Emmi rolled her eyes. "C'mon guys, I don't wanna see what happens when we're late..." Syiah said quietly. After we got dressed, we walked down to the field that was harder to find than our cabin. Once we got closer to the field and got a better look at things, there were so many people gathered there in a straight line. I stood next to a guy with black hair and blue highlights. He glanced at me with narrow silver eyes, that I saw changed color. I gave him the side-eye so he wouldn't see me looking. Everything was silent until the commander came on and began to speak. "Today is an important day," he said sighing. "Today, you will be testing your strength in battle. You can use your assigned weapons that you were given the day you got here," Commander paused to look and examine the crowd. "Like I said, to summon your weapons, all you have to do is pretend like you're actually grabbing a weapon, and it'll appear in your hand. You don't know your weapon, so don't complain if it's not your favorite," I could hear the guy next to me grunt. "You guys will have partners, but you can pick. Go."

Syiah came over to me and grabbed my wrist. "Bella! Can you please be my partner? I wanna test my abilities on you!" I nodded. "Don't complain if I accidentally hurt you." I grunted.

We spaced out in the field across from each other and stared at each other like we're waiting for one of us to do something. "You should go first." Syiah suggested.

I sighed. "If you say so."

I slowly reached behind me as if I had a sword on my back, and slowly forced my hand to come forward in front of me. I felt the weapon start to form in my hand. It was so heavy... as my hand came to the front of me, the weapon was in my hand. Syiah gasped. "A sword!! And it's so...," she suddenly got quieter as her eyes widened. "Scary..." The sword I was holding was beyond what I ever thought possible to exist. My sword stood about 12 feet high, and had multiple sharp edges. 'the handle had spikes on it and a groove indented into it sharply where you're supposed to hold it. How was I even able to hold it? Everyone around me stared at me and the commander stood in shock, as he wasn't expecting it to be this large and dangerous. I put it away the same way I took it out. Syiah couldn't move from shock. I don't blame her. "Alright... my turn... heh..." she laughed nervously. I watched as Syiah pretended like she was taking a weapon out from the side of her waist. Nothing happened. She stared at her hand with a blank expression. "Nothing happened?! Wait, lemme try again!" she shook her head. She tried it again the same way and this time... it worked. She gasped in excitement. "A spear... cool." I said raising my eyebrows. "YEAAAHHHHH! Lemme shoot it at you!"

"If you do, I get to use my sword." I said with a sarcastic smirk.

"Haha... maybe not..." she shivered. "Even though we're supposed to be battling... we can save it for another day... heh heh..." Syiah said while closing her eyes and scratching the back of her head.

The commander came over to the crowd of people that were busy practicing. "We will come out here to practice every day, so don't sleep in, or else you'll be running until the sun sets."

"well, now that we know ours work, let's go and see how Emmi's handling things." I suggested.
