I stood there, not being able to find my voice. I was winded, and I didn't know why.

There lied Syiah, her face smashed into the barrier I had no means of making. Blood was running down the sharp rock wall and getting in between every crevice and cranny in the barrier. I couldn't see her face, her hair was covering most of her face.

Commander lifted her head up to inspect the damage.

"Broken nose, gash in the forehead, the entirety of the face is... bloody," He sighed. "How does something like this happen..." he whispered to himself.

Then his eyes met mine.

"You," he said. "Come with me. The medics will take care of Syiah while we're away."

"Uhh... Al...right?" I hesitated.

As we started walking, he spoke.

"You must be very confused, yes?" he questioned.

"Yeah, I mean... It's not every day that happens.  It was just so... sudden." I replied.

He held his hands behind his back and kept his stare on what's ahead of us, then responded after a moment of silence.

"It's only just begun... and the worst part is... you'll have it worse than anyone here, solely because one of our assistances screwed up. I pity you. Although, I'm positive you can endure it for as long as it comes," He paused as I raised an eyebrow. "Someday it'll stop tormenting you, but... I'm not sure when the day is. This has never happened before." He stopped walking, turned to me, and put his hand on my shoulder.

"The power you will hold... is impeccable." He chuckles softly as he continued on. "I'm almost scared of you... heh." His hand fell off my shoulder, and with that, we kept walking.

Syiah... I could care less. I had only met Syiah, so why should I care about a life that has never been around me long enough to earn my respect? I don't respect anyone besides Hennet. I sighed and let my hands swing to the rhythm of my footsteps.

Finally, we stopped walking and I was met with a clean and tidy-looking building that stood over 16 feet high.

"This is where we test everyone to see their natural combat abilities without using any kind of weapon." the commander explained.

"So why're you taking me here? If it's for everyone, I should be doing this when they are, too." I protested.

"One of yours bloomed early, so we need to test your abilities further." He said.

One of my what? I'm more than confused right now...

He walked onto the concrete platform near the entrance, opened the door for me, and signaled me inside. As I walked into the building, I saw obstacle courses, punching bags, rock walls, a weight room, and occasional treadmills. I looked around the room slowly.

"Just looks like a big gym to me."

He facepalmed and sighed. "No... It's not."

He showed me around the building a little more and told me to come back here in the morning instead of going to battle with a partner. It's not like I'd have a partner to spar with given the circumstances.

I walked fairly quickly back to the door because I didn't wanna be in there any longer than I had to. It was boring.

"I might as well take you back to your cabin. You'll need time to rest for tomorrow since you'll be up earlier than usual." I nodded. "By the way...," I raised my head and look at him. "Do you happen to have a weird scar in the palm of your hand?"

His question made me feel sick. How did he know? Did he see it? Did it mean something bad?

"Yeah... I do." I responded in between a breath.

"Ah... so it's confirmed. Now we wait." He mysteriously laughed.

I looked at him with a firm face. Confused was an understatement. I just wanted to know what the fuck was going on with me.

"What does the scar on the palm of my hand mean?" I demanded.

"...nothing important right now." He huffed.

We then pulled up to my cabin, and I left Commander behind to go inside. As I opened the door, Emmi stood on the far end of the room, straight across from me. She was leaning on a nightstand next to one of the bottom bunks and stared at me in confusion.

"What happened?" She questioned.

"Nun ya." I spat back as I climbed up the ladder to my top bunk, and buried myself under the covers, trying to ignore Emmi.

"I have so many questions! How did you do tha-" I cut her off.

"I don't know." I finished.

"Oh, well...Syiah is sleeping in the medics office tonight. Just in case you were wondering." Informed Emmi.

"Don't care." I uninterestedly replied, turning my back to her and covering myself with the covers.

I heard Emmi huff out a big breath of air as she started to speak.

"Why're you so lifeless all the time? I mean, you could at least TRY to care! I know you're full of emotion on the inside. You need to show it!" Snapped Emmi.

They will never understand.

And when morning came, I knew what had to be done.
