His Hope

Thirteen

The time of the year that ever child or teen looks forward to is their birthday. Something about today though had Hope feeling a bit uncomfortable. She had this dream that something was going to happen because of her sister's clumsiness. Getting out of bed, Hope walked to her closet and started to get dressed for the day. 

"Hope, its time to go."

Hope rolled her eyes as she knew that Bella wasn't exactly excited for the day, but that didn't bother her none as she was excited for the day. She walked downstairs to see presents and smiled as her dad walked in the living room. "You mother and I knew you would be excited so we worked together to get you these gifts."

"Thank you." She wrote.

"Go to school because I think Emmett is picking you up early to spend time with you for your birthday."

Hope smiled as she couldn't wait to spend time with the love of her life.

Alice was slighty confused when she saw the vision of Hope talking to Emmett, but he was telling her goodbye. "Alice?" Jasper said as she looked at him. "You haven't spoken to Hope all day. What's wrong?"

"I saw Hope crying and telling Emmett how she feels. He was telling her goodbye." She tells him. "I think something may happen that causes us to leave and for Emmett to stay and for Hope to speak."

"What would that be?"

Hope could be seen smiling as she listened to her friends. Alice looked at Jasper as she knew that soon, Hope will be talking. "Hope." She turned and smiled as she ran into Emmett's arms. "Are you ready for the two of us to celebrate?"

She nodded as she was excited to spend time with him. Bella saw them leaving and looked at Edward. "Has Hope asked Emmett if he would ever turn her?"

"I don't know." He said. "They seem to have spoke about it, but I wouldn't know what was said."

Bella nodded as she looked back to see her sister being carried out of the school. "They seem a lot more closer than before."

"It's hard to tell about them." Edward says. "They've always been like that, but more closer than before."

Emmett smiled as Hope ate. "Hope." She looked up at him. "I know your scared of us leaving, but I wanted to know why you think that."

Hope grabbed her notebook and started to write her answer down. "Over these past few days, I have been having this dream that something is going to happen and it will jeopardize somehow." Emmett looked up before he continued to read. "I think in that moment is when I'll finally talk and I hope what I have to say will make you see that you have a choice. Hurt me or stay with me."

Emmett looked up at Hope and grabbed her hand. "I don't think I can leave you, Hope." He tells her. "Because of you, you gave me hope that no one has ever given me."

Hope smiled as she believed him. He was her hope too. Since meeting him, Hope has actually been deseparate to talk. She hopes that today, she will finally talk after three years. Emmett stood up and brought Hope with him. "I think its time for us to go and celebrate your birthday."

By the time the two have reached the Cullens, Hope smiled as they arrived, but that smile faded as she noticed something happened. "Stay here." 

Hope nodded as she watched Emmett speak to Ian. Something happened and they weren't there to know what happened, but whatever Emmett was just told bothered her as she saw the hurt in his eyes. Emmett got in and drove off. "We need to talk." Emmett stopped half way down the drive way and sighed. "We have to leave." He tells her. "I didn't get a say so and I don't want to hurt you, baby, but the decision was made."

In that moment, Hope knew that this is when she could speak. She watched Emmett get out making her follow just to finally tell him the truth. "So your going to leave before you got to hear what I have to say about it." She finally said, but her voice was scratchy from three years of being mute. "You told me that you would never leave me and here you are doing what they want you to do." Emmett was frozen in his spot as he listened. "From day one, you have been by my side. Hell, you even promised to help me talk again. I know I never gotten to say those three words yet because I haven't spoken, but now I am." Hope let some tears fall as she looked at him. "I love you, Emmett Cullen and if you leave because you listened to them, than everything we did together was a lie."

Emmett didn't move or say a word. Hope waited for him to finally speak, but when he hadn't responded, Hope walked into the woods upset. Emmett ran after her and grabbed her. "You have no idea how long I have waited to hear you finally speak." He said. "I love you, Hope." 

Hope smiled as she kissed him. They pulled away as they looked at one another. "Are you leaving?"

"Never."

Hope hugged him as her dream of him leaving faded as he was actually staying. Her fears were gone as he told her to stay. "Can we go home? I'm starting to get cold."

"Sure."

"But there is one thing I do want for my birthday." 

"And that is?"

"You."
