Learning Japanese may come to be useful to her, considering that Enishi wasn't actually Chinese, she thought she could eavesdrop on his conversations in Japanese. Never has she thought about learning a different language, Y/N always thought she never needed it, for she told herself that she wouldn't be able to travel in the world. She was too poor to travel around. But now, with the amount of money she was earning, maybe she could travel all over the world, that would be quite an adventure for her. It had been hours since she sat on the floor, leaning on the bookshelves for support while reading. She didn't notice the sounds of the door opening and the handsome man strutted in. Y/N, with her head down focusing, didn't feel the man's presence at all, she didn't even know how long she had been sitting down for.
"What are you doing?" Enishi raised an eyebrow, Y/N didn't even bat an eye to him. "Reading." She replied. Enishi noticed the cover of the book, it was in Japanese. "Why are you trying to learn Japanese?" Another question was asked, and Y/N still didn't look up at him. Somehow, by her gesture, he got annoyed that she didn't pay attention to him at all, and Y/N was not guilty about it. "Because I can. Don't tell me there's a rule about not learning around here." Y/N finally looked up and locked her eyes within his dark ones. "You belong here, in Shanghai. There is literally no reason for you to learn Japanese." Enishi confronted her, but Y/N had nothing to say. All she did was shrug her shoulders. Y/N became too comfortable around him, she put her nose back into the book and ignored him. Enishi twitched his eyes, and being ignored, especially from her, absolutely irritated him. Y/N could feel the shift in his mood when she gave him a half-assed answer. "I'm reading cause I'm bored. You said there was a library here before, I came here just to snoop around." Y/N admitted.
Enishi accepted that answer and no other conversation followed after this one. Enishi stayed for a while to see if she had anything more to say, but she didn't speak, she said absolutely nothing. Her nose was buried into the book. Her attention not being on him made him feel... weird. He wanted her eyes to be on him, to talk to him for a bit, but he got nothing. He spent a while trying to find out where she was, he came back to see her but she was nowhere near the field. He retreated to her room to find nothing there at all. Enishi sort of panicked, he quickened his pace and searched the place for her until he found her sitting in complete silence. He was slightly relieved that she stayed here, but he also wouldn't have cared if she actually left him, at least that is what he always thought. He would think there would be no problem in her leaving him first, but why did he hate the thought of her leaving? It made his stomach curl up.
Without a warning, Enishi left her. Y/N looked up from her book to see him storm out. He was irritated, Y/N didn't recall annoying him at all. She was left confused. Y/N paused her reading to think back about what she said, or done, to make him like this, in the end, she didn't come up with any conclusions, instead, she assumed that he just had a bad meeting. Hours passed and the night came. Y/N noticed the moon shone out from the window onto her, it made her feel refreshed. Y/N yawned, she put her book down and laid on the floor, she could not be bothered to walk all the way back to her room, instead, she let herself deal with the consequences of sleeping on the floor tomorrow. It wasn't like she needed to go anywhere at all. Y/N was left to sleep, her loud snores were the only thing that broke the silence in the library. No one even came in to check up on her. Enishi walked inside to find her sleeping there. He was surprised that she was still here, studying. He let out a sigh of how troubling she was, but he couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at her own actions. She was going to regret sleeping there.
Enishi was unsure whether he should leave her there or take her to bed. After a couple minutes fighting with himself, he decided that he would just leave her there. Enishi turned around, but looked back at her over his shoulder. He scanned her position, the way that she laid down uncomfortably on the ground. He wondered how she could just fall asleep like that. Enishi's face softened, the look of peace was written all over her face. He never felt that, he always got nightmares from sleeping, so he would try to avoid it as much as possible. Just by looking at her, his own eyes became heavy, but he snapped out of it quickly. He shook his head side to side to wake himself up. Enishi left the room, and left her sleeping there. As he went back to his own space in his office, the door opened behind him, he didn't bother to turn around, there was only one person who could open the door without permission, and that was his second in command, Wu Heixing.
