I rolled over on Jaspers couch and dragged my hand across the white leather with the hope Jasper might still be beside me. I groaned as I found nothing and sat up well pushing the blanket off my body. I pulled on the joggers and T-shirt that was laid out beside me before heading down the stairs into the kitchen. Everyone looked over to me and Emmett ruffled my short red curls.
"Why do you do that, everyone of you. You all ruffle my hair every chance you get?"
"It's considered good luck to rub a redhead's head." I groaned at Rosalie as she explain the habit was the result of an old Irish wives-tale.
"Well, I know for a fact that I don't provide any sort of luck." I sat down at the counter as Carlisle placed a cup of blood in front of me.
"Edward tells me you haven't consumed any blood since we left."
"I had a bears worth yesterday." I glared over my shoulder at Edward as he carelessly fingered the piano keys.
"Still, 6 months without blood isn't healthy for you." I rolled my eyes at Rosalie as I lifted the glass to my lips.
I down the glass in seconds and almost smashed the glass when I placed it down. I admittedly forgot when I'm on a proper diet of both food and blood I have the strength of a newborn since I still have blood in my veins. Emmett chuckled at me when I yelped as he tossed me over his shoulder.
"Let me go you oversized oaf!" Emmett tossed me onto the moss cover ground and stood with his arms crossed.
"Emmett, please not today." I dust my joggers off and tried to move past him.
"Come on, we haven't had a friendly match in months!" Emmett squared up with his fists up with a smirk ever-present on his face.
"Fine, but if I win you owe me 3 sweaters." We shook on the deal and I got into the same fighting position as him.
After a couple years rough-housing with the boys on the Rez and watching a little too much Rocky I felt ready to fight Emmett-like we use to do every Sunday. Emmett's always stupid enough to make the first move and was always consistent with his attacks. I dodged his classic left hook by side stepping to move behind him and twisted his wrist as I kicked his back. Emmett came back for more and when I dodged again-my main move-he tried to kick my legs out from under me. I gave him the satisfaction of getting me to the ground before kicking him in the jaw when he tried to help me up.
"Have to do better than that buck-o." Emmett cracked his neck before running back at me.
Emmett came back with a quick left punch and I grabbed his fist well twisting it. I preformed a quick single handed cartwheel till I wrapped my legs around his neck. As the momentum of my body threw him to the ground with me I twisted so he'd end up on his back with my legs still around his neck. I held onto his arm with one hand and the other flexed his elbow so he couldn't bend it.
"Do you give up, Emmett?" He slapped my thigh three times and I let him go.
"Where'd you lean that?" Emmet rubbed his neck.
"Easy, physics and a little knowledge of self defence." I dusted myself off before skipping up the stairs.
"I'll be expecting those sweaters by the end of the night, thanks for playing." I gave him a playful two finger salute before walking into the house.
"How'd it go this time 'round?" I dropped down next to Jasper on the couch as he smirked down at me.
"Won as always."
