I parked where I usually did and stared at where Emmett and Rosalie would park everyday. No one parked in their spots and it seemed like no one was effected by the absence of the family. It made sense though, it's been months now since they left. I sighed as I got off my bike and dragged myself into the school. I shoved my helmet into my locker with little struggle and grabbed my books.
I headed to English then to the library to study during my spare blocks. I lingered in there till lunch came around. I sat at the Cullens table with Bella but neither of us said anything. I could feel people staring at us. I was able to ignore them as I listened to music and read all well eating the little food I'd managed to shove down my throat.
After Biology, History, and Family Studies I got back onto the road and got ready to go home.
"Hey, Alex?" I hummed as I turned around and pulled my headphones out.
Bella stood behind me with her hands in her jacket pockets. She looked like a mess with bags under her eyes and she was paler than normal. She also seemed to drop in weight making her scrawnier than before.
"Have you maybe heard from, you-know-who?" Bella shifted her position awkwardly as I almost glared at her.
"No, I haven't heard from Voldemort."
"Alex, seriously." I sighed and shook my head.
"Edward hasn't contacted me at all but if you're curious, the rest are doing great. Miss us, but their healthy and safe. Are we done here now, I have homework?" She nodded and I shoved my helmet on before speeding away from her.
I felt bad for being blunt and throwing in that joke but I would be lying if I said I was a little pissed that she didn't seem to care much about the others. I slightly understood since she misses Edward in the same way I missed Jasper. She could've at least worded her question better. When I got home it was probably clear something had been irritating me since the boys stayed away from me at all cost. The lack of blood I've consumed since the Cullens left probably attributed to my mood.
"Alex, are you alright?" I dropped my bag to the ground by the door and peeled my jacket off.
"Do we have peaches?"
"You're allergic to peaches." I felt Emily's stare as I ruffled through the fridge.
"I know, that's the point." I grabbed the first fuzzy peach I could find and bit into it.
"Alex!"
"Calm down, I'm kidding. It's a nectarine." I turned the fruit around and showed her the fruit sticker.
"That's not funny."
"I found it comical." Emily rolled her eyes at me as I dropped down into a chair.
Emily and I weren't alone from long, the boys walked in from patrol a couple minutes later. I continued to do my History homework and it was at times like this when I wished Jasper was around. Even if I excelled in History Jasper alway made the subject a little more entertaining with his comments.
