"Hey, I think we should go back to see Jacob's okay." I ignored Bella as I walked onto the porch.

"I hope Paul sinks some teeth in him. Serves him right." I rolled my eyes at Jared as I listened to the words spewing out of his stupid mouth.

"No way, Jacob's a natural. You see him phase on the fly?"

"I got five says Paul doesn't touch him."

"Boys, stop making bets and come in before I convince Emily to let me eat all the food." I walked into the cabin and immediately hugged Emily before Jared and Embry walked in.

"You guys hungry?"

"Like you have to ask, mom." Emily laughs as she ruffles my hair and hands me a muffin.

"Who's this?" I turned to the doorway where Emily was looking to see Bella staring right at Emily's scar.

"Bella Swan. Who else?" I elbowed Jared as his tone came off a little ruder than I liked.

"Hmm, so... You're the vampire girl."

"So, you're... the wolf girl." Emily chuckled at Bella's joke.

"Guess so. Well, I'm engaged to one."

"Don't forget raising one." I smacked Embry over the head causing him to drop his muffin.

"I thought your name was Hill, Alex?"

"It is, Emily and Sam adopted me so I wouldn't end up in foster care. Like it's any of your business." I reached over the jug of orange juice and grabbed a glass as Emily put ht emuffins on the table.

The boys instantly reached to grab one of the muffins but Emily slapped their hands.

"Save some for your brothers. And ladies first." Emily slapped Jared and Embry on the back before offering Bella a muffin.

"Leave it to Jacob to find a way around Sam's gag order." I smiled up at Emily as she handed me today's mail.

"Um, he didn't say anything to me."

"It's a wolf thing. Alpha's orders get obeyed whether we want 'em or not. Oh, and check it out. We can hear each other's thoughts." I laughed as Jared slapped Embry over the head causing muffin crumbs to go everywhere, even in my orange juice.

"Would you shut up? These are trade secrets. Damn it! This chick runs with vampires." I looked over to Jared and gave him one of my own slaps upside the head.

"Idiot, I run with vampires but you still tell me everything."

"Only because you can hear my thoughts!"

"You can't really run with vampires. 'Cause they're fast." Emily chuckled at Bella as I bit my tongue to stop myself from laughing at Jared's shocked face.

"Yeah? Well, we're faster. Freaked out yet?"

"No we're not."

"Shut up, Alex." I smirked as I shoved my muffin in my mouth.

"You're not the first monster I've met."

"Jake's right. You're good with weird." Sam and Emily kissed, which weirded me out since I see them as parents.

"Hey, Kiddo." Sam ruffled my hair and kissed the top of head after he made sure to kiss every part of Emily's face.

"Hey, muffin?" I handed a muffin to Sam which he gratefully took as Jacob and Paul walked in through the door.

Paul apologized to Bella and I watched Jared hand Embry $5. I threw a muffin at Paul which he caught before ruffling my short ginger curls.

"Oh, looky here, little-miss-ginger has mail from New York." My eyes widened as I reached over and ripped the envelope from Paul's hand.

"Thanks for the food!" I grabbed another muffin before running to my room with the brown envelope in my hand.

I made sure to lock my door knowing the boys would try and barge in to see what my mail said. When I opened it I had to stop myself from squealing like a love sick school girl. It was a letter from Jasper detailing the events of his life since we talked last. Inside was also a bundle of polaroid pictures of him in New York. He wouldn't tell me the exact location of where they were staying, but I managed to get the name of which one of the 50 state's he was in.
