                                                     Emma/ Rylynns P.O.V

I’m ten in Sacramento living with my Grandmother again things are okay not great but I’m dealing. My father and his family just moved here I don’t know why but I’m hoping It’s to be closer to me but I think it was for a job he really came for. I have been spending some time with him but grandma won’t let me stay over she says he isn’t doing good, but he is here and being nice to me it’s the first time in my life I feel like I actually have a father. Today it is just me and him at his house I’m so excited I really want to have a good relationship with my father.

Hi daddy, what are we doing today?”

“You’re doing it.”

“Oh, .. are you okay ?’

“I’m fine! You won’t be if you don’t get out of my way!’

My father shouts at me I think he is drunk he promised grandma he wouldn’t drink around me but at least he is here, Right? I am sitting in the living room with him and I believe he is on his seventh drink when he calls me over to his chair.

“Yes daddy do you need something?’

I ask excitedly ready to be helpful I’m sure if I can be useful he will like having me around.

“Yes go grab me the vodka from the fridge then I will give you a surprise.”

I run to the kitchen and look through the refrigerator but I don’t see the clear bottle that he is always drinking out of. I grab a chair to look in the freezer and I see it. As I try to grab the bottle and get down off the chair it slips and shatters on the floor . Oh my god what is he going to do or say before I have a chance to move he is standing in the door frame I have never seen so much anger ooh no.

“What the fuck did you do you little brat!”

“Daddy I am so sorry it was an accident please do not be mad I am so sorry.”

I sob at his feet but he hits me across the face harder than I have ever been hit my head fly’s to the side and I cry out hysterically then comes another blow to the other side of my face. Why?

“Why Daddy please stop”

I continue to cry

“Go to Sarah’s room now!”

He screams in my face, I don’t have a room here so I run to my little sister Sarah’s room and ball my eyes out it’s been two hours he left when I came in here. He is here now he is slamming things around and yelling for me, I’m so scared  but I’m sure it will be worse if I don’t respond.
