A yawn escapes me as I start to stir from my sleep. I rub the rest of the sleep from my eyes and pull myself into a sitting position. The events of last night wash over my mind. Lilura looked really upset went she heard about her family. I can't blame her.
There is absolute doubt in my mind that her brother could be Ganon. How could he be? Ganon has always been a male born Gerudo. If her brother is a Hylian like her father, than there is no way he could be the reincarnated evil. It just doesn't add up. Though things are strange this time around... Hylia is being reborn into Prince Zerah instead of Princess Zelda. But she's still within the royal family at least. And I may be a girl with the Chosen Hero's spirit but I'm still a young Hylian like all the other hero's have been before.
Things may be different but how could Lilura's brother be as evil as Ganon? Surely it would have showed by now, right? I try to push it out of my head as I get out of bed. It only takes a few minutes before I'm dressed in my favorite blue tunic. My gear on and ready to go.
There is a loud commotion outside that catches my attention, leaving me to look to see what's going on.
Dad is standing with his weapons drawn at the castle gates. His best men line the walls behind him. All posed and ready at a moments notice for him to order an attack. There are 4 Gerudo women standing firm before him with 2 dressed less like what appears to be soldiers.
"I demand you leave now or I will be forced to make you." His voice is firm and harsh. He means it. There is no leeway to his tone at all. This is definitely a matter of protecting the castle.
"We will gladly take our leave if you would just give us back our king." The Gerudo that appears to be in charge answers back. Her words are shockingly calm for the demand she's making.
Her skin is dark. Darker than Lilura's, contrasting against her bright red hair. Her armor is black and red and elegantly designed. Clearly someone important to their group if not the leader herself. Well.... outside of Ganon of course.
Beside her is another tall Gerudo with the same fiery red hair and dark skin tone. However, her attire is a black cloak that covers her form. It reminds me of someone who delves deeply into magic. My mind immediately thinks of dark magic but I try not to judge. I have no way of knowing that for sure.
"He is not your king. Now go." Dad isn't giving into her demands.
I wonder why they want the king. We are a matriarch. Queen Zelda is the one that rules. Unless.... do they mean Lilura's brother? Dad is back so that means Lilura's family must be here as well. So then they are the Gerudo that follow Ganon.
I see the cloaked one step closer to their leader. I can barely hear her. "Let's just go, Eesu. It's clear they won't hand him over." Eesu must be the woman in the back armor.
"Very well, Maiya. We will leave for now. But we will get our king back." Eesu looks to the cloaked woman before turning and starting at my father. She almost seems to stare him down before finally turning. "Come, Sister. This is far from over."
Maiya must be the one in the back cloak. I guess they are sisters? I watch as the group all turns and walks away without another word. I have so many questions but it's better I don't get involved right now. I would never hear the end of it from Dad if I even tried to go out there right now. Instead, I move away from the window.
I get a muffin for breakfast that Mom seems to have made this morning. It's still pretty warm. Blueberry. It's good and takes no time at all to finish off as I look to find the others. Zerah meets me in the hall. Seems we were both on our way to check on Lilura.
