Republic City Assault

The investigation

3 days after the terrorist attack on Kyoshi Bridge. We're shown the private estate for the President of the United Republic of Nations which now houses President Zhu Li. We're shown that the entire estate is now not only surrounded by nearly the entire Republic City police department not only on the ground but you can hardly see the sun because there was that many police airships in the air patrolling the estate from the sky.

"This is an assault on our democracy!! An assault on our beliefs !!," "An assault on the very way we live!" President Zhu Li shouted.

"I understand Madam President. You of course have the full support of the entire Republic City Police ." Lin Beifong assured her.

"Well one look outside and I could see that Lin." Remarked Zhu Li. "Well, besides yourself Lin, who do you have spearheading this investigation?" Zhu Li asked.

"Well I have my number one detective on this case. Detective Mako."

"Well he's certainly the best detective on the job." Zhu Li remarked. "Well Lin, what leads, If any do you have?" Questioned the President.

"Well all of the boats used by the attackers were found burned and unsalvageable." Lin said with a little hesitation. Waiting for the President's response.

" Where were they found?" Zhu Li asked.

"They were found burning at the docks. Citizens say a group of 10 men in red outfits with black hoods fled the small speedboats and bordered a larger vessel. But, one man was seen wearing a black suit with a yellow cap on. Unfortunately, all our efforts were focused on the wreckage of the bridge so that's how they slipped through the cracks before we could set up any checkpoints."

"Well, now I know where my driver went!"

"Madam President, what do we know about your driver?" "How long has he been on your detail as your driver?" Lin cautiously asked Zhu Li.

"Well let's see Lin. His name is Aiguo Patel." He's been my personal driver for 3 years."

"Do you know anything else about him Madam President?"

"My security team coordinates with the police everytime I get a new worker on my detail to do a background check before anyone is hired."

"Mako!!" Lin shouted.

Mako came walking through the two large metal doors. "Yes Chief?" asked Mako.

"I need you and you only to go back to the station and get me everything you can on a Mr. Aiguo Patel. Keep this between us. It's strictly confidential and is to be kept on a need to know basis."

"Of course Chief. If I may ask, how are you holding up madam President?" Mako asked.

"I'm doing  fine. I'll be better once these terrorists are brought to justice. That all starts with finding my driver." Zhu Li said.

Mako replied,"Of course Ma'am. I'll leave right now."

Zhu Li smiled and said," Thank you Mako. Your hard work and dedication that you put into to your job does not go unnoticed even on the highest level. I've been trying to steal you away from The Republic City Police Department for quite some time but Lin has a tight grip on you and for good reasons."

Mako blushed and commented,"Wow ma'am that truly means a lot to me. I'll go get you all the information I can on Mr.Patel."

"Thank you Mako, careful with the doors on the way out. They're from Zaofu. Top of the line metal. Well I won't keep you any longer detective. Get me everything you can on him."

Mako replied,"Of course ma'am. I won't rest until all parties involved are apprehended and brought to justice."

Lin chimed in,"I'd expect nothing less from you Mako."
