Ashton was dragging me around the streets of New York and I didn't even know where we were going.
Every time I asked him where he was taking me, he'd just shake his head and say 'I'm going to teach you some culture from this century.' I rolled my eyes at him every time.
''are we almost there?'' I whined, starting to feel tired.
He nodded. ''we're almost there, hold on.''
After a couple more minutes of walking, I finally figured out where he had taken me.
''You made me walk this much to go to the movies?'' I asked, letting out a dry chuckle.
''of course. I have taken it upon myself to teach you just about as much as I can on movies and music. Consider yourself my.. Apprentice.'' He half-smiled.
I raised an eyebrow. ''well, if that's how it's gonna be, then I think it's just fair that I teach you all I know about literature, as well.''
He raised an eyebrow, imitating me, and laughed. ''is that a deal?''
I cocked my head to the side. ''Definitely. You can call it a deal with the devil, if you'd like.'' I joked, smiling smugly while crossing my arms over my chest.
He smirked. ''Deals with the devil are always sealed with kisses though. Are you going to kiss me, Bourne?''
I smacked his arm playfully, chuckling. ''Keep dreaming, Irwin.''
We bought two tickets for a zombie movie that Ashton had already supposedly watched and said it was good enough for my first lesson.
We bought popcorn and then waited a few minutes until the movie started.
Ashton seemed really excited meanwhile I was just devouring the popcorn, taking advantage of his moment of distraction.
When he noticed that my real intentions were to distract him so I could eat more of the popcorn, he snatched the popcorn bag from my hands and held it protectively close to his chest, not letting me get anywhere near it.
I pouted, trying to make my best puppy face. Sadly for me, Ashton didn't fall for it as I had expected him to.
And then he started saying something about how zombies and ponies are extremely underestimated and I nodded, my eyebrows knitting together in confusion as I tried my hardest to actually understand what the hell he was talking about.
When the movie finally began, Ashton clapped his hands excitedly and I laughed at his childish, but adorable, behavior.
His eyes never left the big screen, not even for a second, and I found out it was almost more interesting to watch Ashton then to watch the actual movie.
Even though he told me he had seen this movie before, he was so concentrated that when something disgusting happened, he'd immediately crinkle his nose and frown, looking very cute while doing so may I add. When something funny happened, he'd laugh, even if it was just a terrible joke. When the girl and the boy kissed, he instantly froze and started to blush, causing me to start laughing at his face.
I didn't just watch him the whole movie, of course. That'd be weird.
The movie plot was terrible so halfway trough the film, I already knew what was going to happen. It was cliché and very predictable.
When the credits started rolling down the screen, after the movie ended, Ashton turned to me with a big hopeful grin on his face. ''So..? What do you think?''
I bit the inside of my cheek. ''Well, it had great special effects, I will give you that, but the story was really bad!''
He shook his head in disbelief. He seemed to have done that quite a lot throughout the day. ''I mean, it was obvious that the guy would save himself and the girl in the end.'' I explained.
''This will be harder than I thought.'' He muttered to himself but he was laughing. ''Good thing I love challenges.''
''Aw, look at you, being so cheesy all of a sudden.'' I teased, just to annoy him.
He huffed. ''Thanks for ruining the moment, Emma Bourne.''
''Anytime, Ashton Irwin.'' I answered with a half-smile.
//
''So, this is where you live, huh?'' He asked but it sounded more like a statement rather than a question.
''Yep.'' I replied, making a pop sound on the letter p.
He was staring at my house in awe and I don't know why but that irritated me.
I rolled my eyes. ''Take a picture, it'll last longer.''
With my sneaky remark he was cut from his trance but I was already turning my back to him to head to the entrance doors. Before I could even step forward though, he grabbed my arm softly, stopping me and making me turn around to face him again.
''Have a goodnight, Em.'' He spoke with a low voice and a smile on his face then less than a second later, he dropped my arm and stepped back, shoving his hands in his jacket's pockets.
''Em?'' I asked confusedly.
''That's my new nickname for you. Em. I like it.''
''Goodnight,'' I paused. ''Ash.'' I added with a smirk.
He nodded and with a small smile still on his lips, he turned around and started walking down the street, leaving me to process all that had happened today.
And all I couldn't stop thinking about as I jogged to the door was, I made a new friend.
