Michael was shot out of the portal and landed hard on the ground, but wait, there's more! He slid down a high hill and was about to crash into a thorn bush.

Michael: "No! Oh god!!! NO!!! NOOO!!! FUCK!!!"

He crashed all the way through the thorn bush and slid further down until a large tree blocked his path.

Michael: "ARGH!!!"

He crashed face first into the tree. His nose was bleeding like hell, probably broken too. His face was covered with bloody scratches. It hurt him so much that he cursed in every language he knew to curse to suppress the pain, in Russian, in German, in Spanish, you name it. Michael took a few deep breaths and looked back at the top of the hill. The portal was no longer there.

Well... Now there will definitely be no way back, unless I can find a door to open with that blue key. Anyway, any place is better than where I was born.

Before Michael set out to explore this new world, he opened his backpack and took out a medikit. He began to clean his face to prevent infection. After he finished, his face looked better. He got up from the mossy ground and looked around a little. There were wide and tall trees all around him. The atmosphere was really relaxing. The birds were chirping happily and the trees were rustling in the rhythm of the wind. Michael felt a sensation that he had not felt for a long time. It was a feeling of peace and serenity. He was glad that he had made the right choice.

Alright... Step one. Find a place to set up a small shelter. A shelter near a water source would be an excellent place to start! Not only would I find water there, but perhaps food as well.

Michael randomly picked a direction and began his adventure.

This kind of reminds me of a video game called "The Forest". Just like in that game, I'm somewhere in the middle of nowhere and I have to survive. Hopefully there are no naked cannibals with huge tits running around. That would be the last thing I need right now.

As Michael wandered through the woods, he began to sweat dramatically and paused for a moment to catch his breath. The temperature was hot and nothing like the temperature back at home. The sun was so bright that Michael even felt a slight burning sensation on his skin, but that wouldn't stop him. He wouldn't give up yet, even if it meant being roasted alive out there. Michael wanted to explore more and more until he found the right place to settle down. He didn't really care if he got sunstroke.

Michael wanted to listen to music to lift his spirits a little, but he decided against it. He needed to focus on the world around him, because it was a matter of life and death. Who knows what's out there. There could be dangerous animals and creatures roaming this forest. It would be a great coincidence if cannibals were running naked through the forest, but Michael hoped for the best that it wouldn't happen. After all, he knew how to fight. Earlier, when he was still bullied, he had taken several fighting classes just to beat his bullies bloody. He never regretted a single punch.

After walking for about an hour, Michael heard water noise from his right. He turned his head and was amazed at what he saw. It was a small cave entrance on the side of a mountain. Next to it was a small waterfall that led to a small, clean pond. The pond was so clean that he could see his own reflection pretty well. It was like a perfect mirror. Best of all, it was filled with lots of fish. He couldn't have been any luckier than that. Still, he wasn't quite sure about the cave. It might offer him good protection from wind and rainy weather. But what if something lived there? If it was empty, that could mean that something was not at home. Whatever lived there could return at any time, and that thought scared the hell out of Michael.

I have a really bad feeling about this cave, and I don't like the way the pitch black darkness stares back at me.

Michael grabbed a smaller rock nearby and threw it inside the cave. Immediately, several thudding sounds echoed through the cave as the small rock hit the cave walls, which meant it was a small cave. Fortunately, nothing leaked out of the cave, which also meant it was empty and no one was home.

Thank God... That could have ended really badly. I had actually expected a bear to jump out at me.

Still, Michael wanted to be one hundred percent sure. He took out his flashlight and shined it into the cave. Now that he had a good picture of the cave, he could see that it was actually quite small. There was enough room for just under three people.

Great, now that I have a nice place to sleep, it's time for step two. I need to gather some sticks, rocks, and leaves so I can build a fire pit.

Michael didn't go too far from the cave, so he could easily return without getting lost. He looked for sticks and stones on the ground. He easily got the leaves by tearing them off a bush. After gathering enough materials, Michael began to build a small fireplace outside the cave. After that, he set about making a spear. It was a good thing he had his sharp pocket knife with him. It was much easier with that than with a damn rock. He also cut himself a few times with his knife, but he didn't care. He wanted his spear to be very sharp so he could pierce skulls with ease. One spear probably wasn't enough either. What if he threw his one spear into nowhere while he was looking for it somewhere? He will also be able to throw several spears in one fight. Michael came to this conclusion and made two more spears. A torch wouldn't hurt either. Who knows, maybe one day his flashlight will go out and he'll have to wander in the night. As silly as it sounds, it would be suicide.

The temperature dropped from hot to a comfortable warmth as the sun slowly set. Michael was just sitting in the cave enjoying his meal. He ate two energy bars and drank a can of soda. It wasn't really much, but he didn't want to eat it all in a single day. The next day he would have to go hunting for food.

Suddenly, Michael heard a loud roar not far away. He immediately jumped up and dropped his can of soda. His heart was beating a million times a minute. The trees were no longer rustling. The birds were no longer chirping. There was no wind at all. Everything was quiet, far too quiet for his liking. The only thing he could hear was his own heartbeat.

Woah, what the fuck was that!?

It was followed shortly by a scream that sounded like a woman.

Okey, what the hell is happening in this forest!? That was most likely a woman screaming for help. Maybe there are some people I can team up with. I need to find her and help her right now!

Michael left his things in the cave, except for his knife, spears and bow with arrows. He ran in the direction of the scream while thinking about what was waiting for him. He didn't know if he should be involved in what was happening over there. Maybe it's something that attacked that person? Michael felt fear. Many questions rushed through his mind.

What if it wasn't a human scream? What if it is a trap? What if I have to fight something? What will I be fighting? Will it even be a fair fight? Will it be painful? Will my death be quick and painless?

Michael's questions were interrupted by a pool of blood. On the dirt ground he saw something lying unconscious.
