A Key To Another World

Chapter nine

Argh, my head hurts like I rammed it full force through a door! What the hell happened anyway!? The only thing I can remember is that Zoe and I went home after taking a bath at the lake. And once again I'm just surrounded by darkness, great....

Michael heard some people yelling, but couldn't understand a word they were saying because they sounded pretty far away. They were clearly ranting about something and Michael had a feeling it had something to do with him. He also heard a lot of other people whispering around him, which made him very uncomfortable. Michael could hear someone approaching him as he heard footsteps and soon a deep, aggressive male voice spoke to him.

???: "Wake up!"

Michael slowly opened his eyes only to see that he was trapped in a large wooden cage. A huge crowd of human-like foxes surrounded the cage.

Damn! Is this some kind of furry convention!? Uh, um... Okey Michael, don't think of anything weird!

They all stared at Michael curiously, for they had never seen a creature like him before. Just like Zoe, they all had white fur, black back hand paws, green feet paws, and wore these tribal-like clothes. Next to the cage, he spotted a larger human-like fox. Instead of tribal clothing, he wore royal clothing with a crown on his head. He gave Michael an angry look.

This must be the king of these people, I think.

The king circled the cage Michael was sitting in, staring at him from all directions as he growled in anger.

???: "What have you done to my daughter!?"

Michael: "D-daughter? What daughter?"

???: "My daughter Zoe! What have you done to her!?"

Michael: "I- uh, n-nothing serious! I s-swear!"

Oh shit!!! That's her dad and he's the king too! I forgot Zoe told me that once!

???: "What are you and where are you from!?"

Michael: "I-I am a human being and I come in peace. I am not from here. I-I come from another world."

The crowd gasped and whispered to each other as they heard another intelligent and sentient being came from another world.

???: "What is your name and why are you here!?"

Michael: "M-my name is Michael, but everyone calls me Michi. I-I'm not here to cause any trouble, I swear! I just wanted to escape my old life and start over somewhere else!"

Michael felt someone's presence enter his mind. He looked into the king's eyes, which were glowing green. Michael's eyes widened as he realised something. Zoe's father was trying to figure out the truth all by himself. If Zoe's father found out that Michael had fallen in love with his daughter and even bathed with her, her father would surely set his willy boy on fire. Michael did his best to block out the king by thinking of everything else that came to mind. Michael thought about his old life, music, school, and any other random bullshit he could think of. The King couldn't process Michael's thoughts because they were too many and caused confusion in his mind. The king held his head in pain and growled angrily at Michael.

???: "You are definitely hiding something from me! Zoe!!! Zak!!! Both of you come here right now!!!"

A few seconds later, another human-like fox pushed the crowd aside and dragged Zoe towards the king while she tried to escape his grip.

Zoe: "Zak! Let me go!"

Zak: "Shut up!"

Right after Zak arrived, he stared at Michael with murderous intent, which scared Michael. Not only was he as tall as the king, but he was powerfully built and his hands looked like they could crush anything into juice.
