[Meanwhile with Emily in her un-cute abyss]
"Oh, fiddle fu—" Emily screamed as she fell down the abyss. Then she realized she could just float out from the abyss, but it would be a long way up. Well, it would only get longer if she didn't do anything.
She was about to float out of the abyss until a yellow feathery hand grabbed her arm. She looked up to see who did this, and she realized it was a giant duck. She scowled. "Who are you?"
The duck didn't respond and pulled her out of the abyss. Emily looked at her arm, indicating she wanted the duck to let go of her. It didn't let go.
"I am your admirer, and I want you to marry me," the duck said.
Emily gagged and then picked up the duck and threw him into the abyss.
"QUACK!" The duck quacked and then disappeared from Emily's sight.
Emily checked to make sure he didn't fly up from the abyss again for a few more seconds and then decided he was dead. She flew away into the horizon without looking back.
[At nighttime in Karen and Rat's #couplegoals home]
Karen-Chan heard several odd noises that strange night. While doing her nightly reading, she heard a few pitter-patters coming from outside. Perhaps some mice. Or Rat himself getting a snack or glass of red water. Karen shrugged to herself and decided to let it be. Then she heard creaking noises. Maybe it was the floorboards. They did that sometimes. So Karen ignored it. And then the pitter-patter noises came again, except louder. Karen shut her book and stood up from her orange velvet armchair. Something was wrong, she could smell it in the air.
She was too late. Soon a yellow feathery hand holding a chloroformed napkin was clutched over her mouth and nose. Karen tried hard not to breathe, but she fell unconscious anyway.
[An hour later in an unknown area]
Karen groaned. She was finally awake. Her arms and legs were bound to a chair with a thick, long rope. She wiggled around and attempted to free herself, but the ropes were too tight. She checked her surroundings. It seemed that she was in an abandoned warehouse. Typical of these kidnappers. She looked for her captor, who was conveniently standing in a corner of the room.
"My, my," her captor, a duck, said. "Sleeping Beauty's finally awake."
"Who are you?!" Karen asked the duck.
"I am DUCK," her kidnapper told her. "I want to make a deal with you."
"A deal?" Karen asked DUCK. She proceeded to fidget around, but DUCK ignored this.
"Yes, Karen," DUCK said. "You want Rat-Kun, huh?"
Karen didn't respond to this. She was busy trying to get her phone out of her pocket. Luckily, DUCK didn't take it from out of her jean pocket. With a couple more twitches, Karen snagged her phone and dialed an emergency number: 911-MANAGER.
"Get me out of here!" Karen yelled, loud enough so that the person on the other end of the phone could hear it, but also casual enough to seem like she was doing nothing. She made a show of trying to kick her legs, but they were still bound by the ropes holding them against the legs of the chair.
"If you help me find the location of Emily," DUCK continued, "I will give you back to Rat. If you fail to help me, you're stuck here forever."
"Let me go!" Karen screamed. "Or else!"
"Or else what, Karen?" DUCK asked her.
Karen smiled. "Or else this."
On cue, a giant robot ripped the roof off the warehouse and Frisbee'd it through the sky. It reached inside the warehouse to nab DUCK, but DUCK was prepared.
"You're. . . FIRED!" DUCK yelled at the giant robot manager.
The robot manager instantly dropped DUCK back into the warehouse. It powered down and dropped to the ground, crushing a couple of buildings and cars. DUCK turned his attention back to Karen, who seemed unfazed by the destruction of her robot manager. Instead, she looked incredibly happy.
"Why are you smiling?" DUCK asked curiously.
Karen laughed. "Ha! Ha! Do you think that was the only manager I had? I have a whole army! And they're coming right for you. . . They, being robots, have already tracked my location and are ready to destroy you!"
The whole ground shook, toppling Karen and DUCK over. Just like Karen said, an army of smaller robot managers were pushing their way through the streets, diving over and under cars and buildings. They climbed up the walls of the abandoned warehouse and grabbed Duck's wings and restrained him.
"Hey! One of you! Get me out of here! Or else I'll sue!" Karen screeched at the army of robots.
One small robot came to her aid and cut the ropes constraining her. Karen hopped out of her chair and brushed the dust off of her clothes. Her robot army had rendered DUCK unconscious and started carrying the body away to their secret manager lair.
Karen stepped outside of the warehouse, staring into the midnight sky. It was around one in the morning. She'd have to return to Rat soon before they had to wake up to go to their cute little high school. But Karen didn't know where she was. She observed her surroundings. There wasn't much, as the robot army had destroyed pretty much everything. Karen would have to observe from above. She quickly transformed into a ninja and flew up into the sky.
