Warning: This part mentions violence and probable death.
The children were already long gone. Sophia was by herself, standing in front of a building with three angry octopuses who would love to kill her at the moment. She gulped and made an observation of her surroundings. There was the bus stop that she and the children stopped at in their last escape, but that bus already left. Sophia frowned. How would she get out of this horrible situation?
"Hello Sophia," a familiar voice said.
Sophia turned to her left to see Emily floating next to her. "Um. Hey," she responded. "What's up?"
"Nothing much," Emily replied. "Anyways, I can tell you're in a dire situation and in need of help."
"Mmm, basically," Sophia said.
"We can hide out in my house. It's super safe and undetectable, no octopuses would find us there!" Emily said happily and gave Sophia a thumbs-up.
"Oooh," Sophia said, impressed. "Nice."
"Yup! Follow me," Emily told her. Then she wandered off onto the road, casually ignoring the fact that cars by her stopped and crashed into each other. Sophia shrugged and avoided the shattered pieces of glass and chunks of metal lying on the street.
Finally after an hour of walking through the dark city, Emily and Sophia stopped at a barren hole in the ground.
"My humble abode," Emily said, waving her hand over the hole for a more magical effect.
"Nice," Sophia said. She leapt into the hole. Emily grinned. She then pushed a large boulder nearby on top of the hole, blocking the moon's light from Sophia's view.
"Darn!" Sophia yelled. But she knew there was still a way to get back at Emily. She pulled out her phone and messaged DUCK:
Emily's located on Tamiy Street in Caterso City. Next to a really big boulder.
[Meanwhile with DUCK]
At the moment, DUCK was sleeping in his nest by the lake in Najimi Park. The ping from the notification on his device awoke him instantly. At first he thought it was an attacker, but then he realized it was a message from Sophia. DUCK stared at the message for a while before opening it. He wasn't sure whether or not to go after Emily, but he realized that he still had a burning love for her deep in his heart. He put his device away, flapped his wings, and flew away into the night in search of Emily.
[Meanwhile with Emily]
Luckily for Sophia, DUCK arrived just on time. Unluckily for Emily, DUCK arrived just on time.
"Emily!" DUCK squealed with delight.
"Oh fiddle frick," Emily muttered. She transformed into her magic ninja form and began to fly away. DUCK nabbed her leg and pulled her back to the ground.
"How dare you!" Emily yelled. She kicked DUCK in the face and pinned him to the ground. Then she picked him up and threw him across the midnight sky. "Gosh, I hate ducks."
Then there was peace.
At least.
For about three minutes.
"I smell her sweet lavender scent here," a strangely familiar octopus voice said.
"Er, okay," another familiar octopus voice responded.
"I smell something deadly toxic," another another familiar octopus voice mumbled.
"There is a horrid smell coming from somewhere. . .," the first octopus remarked. "It smells so mysteriously like Emily's armpit stench. . . Wait. . . It is Emily's armpit stench!"
