"Wait, what are you even doing here? Do you know how difficult it is to be a Dauntless, a soldier?" Invictus questioned, he glanced down at Four who had a raised brow, so her brother grabbed her arm and took her away to the outside of the cafeteria where they could be alone.
"I made my choice." She answered, he squinted his eyes and shook his head. "Venus...You chose wrong." He said, she pulled her arm away and shook her head. "I made my choice. My choice." She emphasized, he let out a sigh and placed both hands on her biceps gently. "No, I can't protect you all the time." He said lowering his voice. "I'm not asking you to protect me. I came here for myself, not for you." She said removing his hands.
He inhaled deeply and rubbed his hand on his face annoyed by her.
"Just do me a favor." He said and put his hand on his hips, scolding her. "What is it?" She asked him and looked into his eyes. "Stay away from the leaders. You can't trust them." He whispered, she furrowed her brows and he glanced behind her.
"Inspecting the new transfers, Vic?" She could hear Eric ask from behind her, she quickly stood next to her brother and the Dauntless leader looked at the two. "Something like that." Her brother answered crossing his arms, he seemed tense and Venus noticed.
"I'll be keeping an eye on you, yellow." Eric said to her, a smirk expressed on his face then he walked away into the cafeteria.
"You've got to be joking me." Her brother muttered and she looked at him confused. "What did you do? Did you stick out?" He asked her, she then thought back to today and believed it was because of her jump that caught his eyes or maybe it was because she was from Amity.
"I might've jumped with my back facing the hole." She answered not understanding why he was so upset, he groaned and ran a hand through his hair. "Okay, okay. No need to panic." He said to himself then let out a sharp exhale. "Okay, just don't stick out. Blend in for me and stay low." He said to her now, her mouth parted and decided to not fight him, so she nodded not wanting to lose her brother again.
"Okay." She responded then he gave her a light smile. "I'm doing this for you, Venus. They will eat you alive in here." He pointed out, she nodded again and he inhaled deeply. "What happened to you? You used to be so nice, what happened?" She asked out of the blue, his smile faded and he stared at her for a good few seconds then the ground.
He remained quiet and he let out a sigh then began to walk away.
"Don't stick out, Venus." He warned her, and she watched him as he walked away and sighed then walked back into the cafeteria.
As she walked in, Four walked out and he gave her an unreadable look to which she responded with a raised brow. She gets back to her seat and sat down next to Will, they all looked at her waiting for her to talk.
