"Just breathe. Just breathe." Venus whispered to herself as she held the pendant of her necklace tightly from under her jacket. The doors are then opened in front of her and she breathed out a sharp sigh as she slowly walked forward to the center of the testing room.
It was a big room, bigger than the one she had tested in before she was in Dauntless. There was a metal chair, leaned back in the middle with multiple screens to show everyone around what would be going on in Venus's head. She walked deeper into the room and see immediately sees Vic standing next to Four, his eyes seeming different, his eyes were filled with life and brightness.
She is then met with Zeke who walked up to Venus and had a sad smile on his face.
"You're gonna do fine, Venus." He whispered to her and she inhaled a shaky breath as he brought her up the steps then to the chair. She stared at the chair while Zeke was getting the serum and she looked up at the stands on the second floor, where more people were watching her. Betting on either her success or failure. She looked around again trying to find his familiar face and once she saw him, her heart began to beat calmly. He gave her a small nod of encouragement and she could still feel the cool necklace around her neck, the one he had given her.
"All right. You ready?" Zeke asked her from behind her and she nodded then turned to face him. A forced smile on her face, for the people, to show them that she wasn't afraid of what was next. "Go ahead and sit down. Relax your body and face your fears bravely." He added and she sat down on the chair then turned her body to lean back, almost laying down on the chair.
Zeke carefully moved her hair from her neck and he noticed the chain from her necklace. He sighed placing his hand on her shoulder then injected her neck, so carefully and filled with almost regret.
"Thank you, Zeke. For everything." She said to him and he flashed her a closed smile. "Of course." He responded as she closed her eyes and he walked down the steps.
He walked to a table and readied the next serum for the upcoming Dauntless. Then Eric slowly walked up to Zeke, aware of being cautious since almost everyone was there that way. They both then looked up at the screen and watched as Venus had gotten to her first fear.
"Let the games begin." Zeke said sarcastically and Eric let out a sigh as he crossed his arms to hide the fact that he was worried for her.
Venus opened her eyes, reminding herself that she was now in her test, and with everyone watching her, she had to be extremely cautious. She got up from the chair and looked around, remembering that place all too well.
"Don't worry. I'm sure she'll pass." Zeke whispered to Eric who watched the screen intently as Venus hugged her mother's hung body once again. He popped his thumb's knuckle and glanced at Vic who was now standing with Max, a blank expression on his face which made him glance at Four who was talking to Bear quietly.
