"You can still walk on it just fine?" Al asked Venus as they were all walking to the pit and she slightly picked up her knee, wiggling her leg. "Yeah, it still kinda hurts." She answered truthfully as she sets her leg back down as they kept walking and they could see people forming in line as they go to the middle. Venus looked around confused and furrowed her brows as Al eyed the area, unsure of how to feel."Come on. Get in line." "Everybody, line up!"
Both glanced at each other confused and he gave her a small shrug in response, she could see everyone lining up and something inside her told her not to. To walk away. To hide.
"What's this?" She questioned out loud and felt Edward stand next to her. "All Dauntless initiates, report to your command leader." They announced as the 3 glanced to each other once again and Venus looked around trying to find any of her other friends.
"All right, listen up!" Eric captured their attention and Venus looked up to the stairs seeing him standing there, gripping the railing. "Before you leave tonight, I want you all in four lines. Everyone gets a tracking device. Don't ask questions. It's just a precaution." He informed them as he gestured forward and Venus was hesitant on getting in line, even as she sees her friends get into it. She took a step back and felt her heart race, not wanting to get the tracker, but her back collided with someone.
She quickly turned expecting Eric to be standing there as he usually does, but she sees Vic instead, his hands behind his back and a smile on his face. A genuine smile. Not an evil one.
"I can only say this once, but...I'm really glad you're still here." He said whispering the last bit to her. She looked at him lost as to why he was being nice all of a sudden and he shuddered then cleared his throat. "Hope, you don't disappoint. Everyone is gonna look up to you soon." He added then his eyes narrowed and turned dark, his whole demeanor had changed.
Before Venus knew it, a sharp sting on her neck made her wince and she held her throbbing neck, her hands slightly shaking as she sees him holding a weird type of gun.
"Didn't seem fair of you to wait in line for this." He said shaking the gun slightly and smiled walking away, she rubbed the store spot on her neck and walked out of the pit to make her way to the dorm room.
"Hey, Venus!" A voice called from behind her and she stopped to turn to see who it was. A smile formed on her face and she sees Zeke jog to catch up to her. "Just the person I was looking for, I actually need your help with something." Zeke said as a group of Dauntless walk pass the two, she nodded and he inhaled a breath then glanced at the Dauntless. She could tell he was acting strange and wanting to be discreet, he cleared his throat then gestured with his head for her to follow. She took the hint and began walking with him by his side.
"Eric is holding a meeting, we need to go over for the plans for tomorrow." He said to which she slightly tilted her head. "Tomorrow?" She repeated and he nodded then lead her to a dead end, so she stared at him confused as they get to the end and he looked at her with a smile. "Want to see some magic?" He asked her and she smiled in response as he did something to the wall. She couldn't tell since she stood behind him, but something began to happen.
