A/N: This chapter is mostly a build-up on who this Thalia character is because everyone needs a lil' character development.
The wind whipped around Thalia Leon's hair as she stared out into the distance, loud music blaring behind her. Another grand party for the Leons.
As much as she wanted to join in, Thalia had decided not to. She felt like isolating herself to think about the past two years.
What a difference two years could make. Dying at fourteen and becoming some kind of heiress at sixteen. What an accomplishment.
It was one she never expected.Just the pure fact that she was given a second chance to live was enough for her to jump with joy everyday.
The aching feeling, however, of leaving someone behind was still there. Those two great years were also guilty ones.
Thalia had decided that it was wise to abandon those feelings and look towards the way better future.
The Leon Clan--or gang, if you will--was going to get its new and well-deserved clan leader after the other heir had deviated from their path.
"Don't you want to join the party, Thalia?" a male voice said from the shadows.
Thalia nodded without looking at the speaker. Helios the sun god. Her father.
"Nah. I'm kinda thinking right now, Dad."
A man with golden blonde hair and a bright aura about him sat down beside her. "What're you thinking about? That weak little Canis that used to be your sister?" he asked, a bitter tone used when he uttered the surname.
"The very one," Thalia confirmed.
Helios heaved a great sigh. "I hate seeing my little heiress be so bothered about one stupid person," he pouted. "What do you want me to do for you to lift those setting spirits of yours? I'll do anything."
Thalia's eyes narrowed. Anything. When her dad said anything, he meant anything. No exceptions, no limitations. There really was only one thing to do to lift her spirits up.
"Kill her," Thalia answered through gritted teeth. "Give me something to kill her."
Helios's eyes glowed an eerie amber. "Circe will take care of that."
~~~~"Damn, where the hell is that stupid dog?" Phoebe groaned crossly. "We've been looking around the stupid city for hours now and she is a literal ninja!"
"Patience, Phoebe," Thalia snapped. "We should split up. We'll cover more ground that way. Meet me at this alleyway and we can carry out what we came here for."
She rubbed the edge of the small stone in her jacket pocket as she spoke. A bloodsucking stone. Deteriorates the body slowly but surely if ingested. A dangerous concoction created by Circe herself.
Also the most perfect way to kill people like her.
"Split up in a city like this?" Phoebe groaned. "There's way too many people here. How do we know who it is? I've never even seen her rotten mug!"
Thalia rolled her eyes as she pulled out her phone, scrolling through her sizable gallery till she found a picture of a grinning girl. "This is Luna Canis. Got it?"
Phoebe studied the photo carefully and nodded after a while. "Got it."
~~~~
Thalia hated to admit it, but Death City was a pretty pleasant place. Everything looked pretty fantastic for a place with death in its name.
Helios always said that Thanatos was pretty bent on always clarifying the fact that he was Death himself.
Thalia walked along the cobblestone streets, surrounded by stalls carrying all sorts of wares and merchandise. She was tempted to spend some money on a rad fiery ring or a good old mystery novel, but decided against it.
She rounded a corner only to see a certain Luna Canis walk along with the son of death and four other mortals.
Fuck! she screamed mentally, immediately jumping back and scolding herself for cursing.
In all honesty, she hadn't anticipated company. She assumed that she would come alone!
Stupid stupid stupid stupid STUPID! she mentally facepalmed. Impeccable planning, Thalia, impeccable! What a great mastermind you are!
Thalia made a mental note to isolate the girl from her companions before shoving a life-threatening stone into her mouth.
~~~~
"She has what?" Phoebe shrieked. "Companions?! Why didn't we think of that?"
"I know, I know. Stupid, right?" she huffed.
"Anyway, I was thinking that we should find a way to isolate the stupid dog from her peers and make her swallow the stone," Thalia began, twisting her hair into a braid."We've got some time, and I'm pretty sure our bodies can take at least two months of finding ways to terminate her," she continued.
Phoebe furrowed her brow. "Alright then," she agreed. "Find the girl, kill her, relish in our victory. Simple as that."
Thalia nodded, her lack of remorse and sympathy surprising and relieving her.
No annoying little sister to concern her anymore.
~~~~
Thalia sat up from her bed and rubbed her eyes blearily. Ugh. Five in the morning.
Too early. She groaned, getting up and wrestling on an oversized hoodie. Might as well start the day.
Thalia slipped on her shoes, put her hair up in a messy bun, and walked out of the hotel room.
The streets of Death City were quiet as Thalia searched for a restaurant that served hot breakfast or something.
All Leons were proficient cooks, but at the moment, cooking wasn't a priority. It was finding Luna Canis and ending her.
Thalia sighed with relief as she spotted a restaurant named 'Deathbucks.' She could recognize the deviation of the name from its original, Starbucks, and nearly laughed from its silliness.
It looked promising. Oh well. She shrugged and started walking towards the restaurant, pushing open the door.
"Welcome," a grim-looking man from the counter greeted.
Thalia surveyed the patrons sitting down. Only four people sat there: a weird kid with three stripes on one side of his hair, a girl with dark blonde hair and another with a lighter shade of blonde and---
Oh hell no.
"Thalia?" a familiar voice inquired.
She turned on her heel, wrenched open the door, and ran.
