That's how Techno ended up in Wilbur's room, seeing the mess it was. But they were now digging through the few letters Phil did send, 4 of which they deduced were important, although in total he'd sent 15. 11 of them were simple apologies to Wilbur, similar words repeated, insignificant. 4 however were messages that seemed much more personal.

'I wish it turned out different, I really did. I know whatever i do i can't be forgiven, and y'know what that's fine by me. Understand i still care, i'm just busy with something none of you will ever understand'

Odd, in the 7 years that Techno's known him, he's never even mentioned something like this. Techno scans the letter, trying to understand what he means by that. Maybe a mental health trip? Personal wellness trip? What the hell was Phil even doing?

Wilbur looked just as confused, but now he looked guilty as well. "I'm, I'm sorry that I, uh, that I didn't tell you earlier. I just hoped to figure it out myself first, since these were specifically addressed to me. I'm sorry."

Wilbur looked afraid, he looked sad, he looked worried. Was he scared Techno would get angry or something? His dad left him and sent him letters specifically to him, his judgement was most definitely clouded. It wasn't the right call, most definitely, but it's not like he can blame the grieving and confused boy for a bad call.

"Hey, hey, Wilbur, look at me, come on now, don't worry about it. You couldn't have known to do better, you're a grieving 15 year old who's watching his family fall apart and his future career path be locked in, no one's expecting perfection here."

Wilbur still looked guilty and scared despite the circumstances, what utter bullshit did Phil do to the boy!?

Techno reached his hands out, inviting the boy into a hug, of which he accepted. They stood there, holding each other, worried in their own rights, and they stayed there, in an embrace. The letters were baffling, and they couldn't piece anything together. Phil was elusive, and even in his 'explanations' he let them in on nothing. What the hell was the man hiding!?

Techno put the questions aside for later, he'd try to piece a theory together later. Picking Wilbur up by his hands, he grabbed his chin and made him look him in the eyes, soft brown eyes meeting a deep crimson gaze. "Trust me, Wilbur, you've done nothing wrong. There's no way you would have thought about anything else than the letters, you're a 15 year old boy, Wilbur."

Wilbur seemed to calm down at that, assurance was often the best way to help someone anxious, and Techno was no stranger to it.

"How about, why don't you go to bed Wilbur? You've been through a lot this past week."

"That sounds lovely, Techno."

Wilbur went to his bed, lavish and expensive, but ultimately superficial. Sighing to himself, Techno left his room, before deciding to check on Tommy again, and as if magic, Kristin was out of bed, sitting by Tommy.

"Kri- Kristin! You're awake!" Techno damn near yelled, and Kristin turned her head, a soft smile on her face. Tommy in her arms, laughing happily. "Techie! Mum is awake!" Tommy announced happily. "Hello Technoblade." She said, her voice as soft and lovely as he remembered, god, it's been how many months now?

"How- what- nevermind that, how well are you feeling?" Techno asked, walking over to the pair sitting on the carpet by Tommy's action figures. "Not, not perfect, I'll admit, but I woke up, and decided to walk around a bit. It can't be good for my body if I stayed in bed forever either, would it?" She jokes, as cheerful as before. That can't be right.

Techno walked closer to the both of them, and Tommy jumped into his arms, all smiles, his eyes bright as stars. Behind him though, Kristin looked resentful. There it is. Kristin was not this pleasant the last time she was awake. "Tommy, come back into mum's arms now." She said, softly. Now that Techno's paying attention, it's definitely much softer than her normal voice. She's masking herself for Tommy.

"Yes Mama!" Tommy laughed, climbing out of Techno's hold and back into his mother's waiting arms, giggling happily. There were things that needed to be said between the Queen and the advisor, but for this moment, they can wait.

"How has everyone been treating each other?" She asked softly. "Dad went on an adventure a week ago, he's still not home. We're waiting for him." Tommy answered, blissfully unaware. Techno expected a more shocked reaction, a more confused reaction, but Kristin merely continued smiling.

"Oh, that's it, isn't it." She said, part of her resentment coming back in those words. Despite the hatred, it was clear there was no surprise in her tone. Did she know he was leaving sooner or later?

"Alright Tommy, mum and Techie need to talk quickly, don't worry. Why don't you call Wilbur? I'm sure we all miss each other." She said, Tommy nodding, before running off, Kristin grabbing Techno's hands and dragging him -more like guiding, her physical strength was near 0- into her chambers, the resentment was no longer being hidden.

"So, what do you have to tell me, Kristin?" Techno started, and Kristin slammed the nearby vanity table with surprising strength for her condition, her eyes could've been burning with fire just then. "That bastard of a husband, Phil, is what I have to tell you about!" She yelled, her black hair a mess from months of no care.

"That son of a bitch poisoned me with some kind of potion, he was planning on leaving months before I even fell ill!" She yelled, trying to punch the mirror but being intervened by Techno, who easily held the enraged Queen's frail frame. "Stay calm Kristin, trust me, I know he's an asshole, just not to that extent."

"He commissioned some alchemist to kill me! That bastard. Just because of a single dispute-" the Queen was cut off with many coughs, her body catching up to itself. "I just, we had a fight over one thing, and he threatened to abandon us, so i kept quiet. No matter how shitty, my boys deserved a semblance of a father figure." She continued, her body beginning to collapse on itself, running out of strength.

"Techno, call for a court meeting tomorrow. I have words to say." She said, angry. "Call it now if you can, say it's urgent, i don't even know if I'll make it tomorrow, so call one now!"

"Mom?"

Tommy and Wilbur stood at the door, afraid.
