I kickflipped off my board and landed with perfection. I could hear the roar of the crowd. I was so close to beating them. I jumped on the railing, and...
"Kuroi!"
I jerked up from where I was daydreaming. The course and the strobe lights were gone, and all I saw now was my teacher and my class staring at me.
"What's the answer?" My teacher asked.
"Um...what was the question again?" I asked nervously.
My teacher just sighed. "Niki, are you feeling alright? You usually never zone out in class."
"I'm great!" I smiled.
Actually, I wasn't too sure about that myself. It was the first time in a while that I even thought about skating...or S.

As I walked through the halls of my school, my daydream from earlier was all that I could think about.
Being one of the top skaters of S, I can't say I didn't miss it.
Ever since that one time my parents called the police on the S race because I was there, I swore to myself I'd never go back. I can't bear the risk of getting caught and almost arrested again.
I walked by the garbage dump at our school, and heard a crash. It startled me.
I looked down to find two boys. They looked around my age, maybe even in the same year.
I looked closer to find that that one of them was Reki Kyan, a boy from class 2-3.
I've seen him around S a few times, and he works part-time at the local skateboard shop.
The other guy was someone I didn't recognize at first, until I remembered something.
I opened my phone the other day to find that there was a new rookie attending S. His name was Langa, but people called him Snow because he used to be a snowboarder.
That must be him.
I hid behind a wall to hear them. They sounded like they were practicing skateboarding, and Langa was having a tough time with it.
I smirked to myself. I knew what I needed to do.

The next day, I walked up to the local skateboarding rink. Just my luck, Reki and Langa were there.
As I walked closer, Langa fell off of his skateboard. Ouch.
I walked over to him and extended my hand. He looked up at me with surprise.
"Are you okay?" I asked, smiling big.
He was speechless, and Reki didn't say anything either. I guess neither of them have ever talked to a girl before.
"What are you still doing on the ground? Get up, silly!" I grabbed his hand and pulled him up off the ground.
"Oh, thanks." He said.
He pointed to my uniform. "You're wearing the girls uniform from the school that we go to. Do you-"
"Yup!" I beamed, grabbing the straps of my backpack. "I've seen you both around school. Are you both in Class 2-3?"
"Yeah." Langa nodded his head.
Reki finally slapped the ramp he was sitting on. "Now I remember who you are! I was having trouble there! You're Kuroi from Class 2-5, right? I don't think I know your first name...sorry!" He scratched the back of his head.
