Over the course of a couple weeks, I had physical therapy to get myself back on my feet. I hadn't moved my legs for over 3 months, so the doctors believed it to be best.
Once I was finally walking normally, I was discharged from the hospital.
Not long after I was discharged, Miya reminded me that Langa has his race against Adam soon. Apparently, he disappeared for a while after our race, then reappeared not too long ago.
I asked Sydney if she wanted to go to the race with me, and she was more than willing.
She told me that she wanted to watch as my friend beat up the person who injured her girlfriend.
She is just too cute.
When the day arrived, Sydney and I headed to the course on the motorcycle Cherry let us borrow, since their was no room in his car.
Sydney drove the motorcycle, it surprised me that she knew how.
Apparently, it was really backed up when we got there so we all had to get out of our vehicles and walk.
So we did. I walked hand-in hand with Sydney, when Reki and Langa came up to us. It had been the first time I had seen them both since the day I had decided Langa was better for Reki.
"Niki, it's been a while!" He came to my left side and slapped my back. "How are ya feeling?"
"Reki...I think you should be a little gentler?" Langa raised an eyebrow at him. "She was in a hospital bed not too long ago."
"Ugh, don't remind me." I turned around and smiled at them. "I'm doing just fine, thank you very much."
That was a lie. I was fine physically, but mentally...I couldn't help but keep relapsing what my parents said. It's caused too many mental breakdowns in the past week.
"Either way, forget about me." I turned my body all the way around to face them. Sydney latched onto my arm and smiled at them. "You're up, big shot." I pointed straight at Langa.
"Yeah..." Langa looked at his board. "I'm ready."
"I hope so!" Sydney beamed at him. "Blow this jerk out so you can get revenge for Niki!"
I sighed and smiled, bringing her closer to me. "He doesn't have to do that, hun. I told you it's fine."
"Oh...okay." She smiled once again.
"If it isn't the Nikster!" A very familiar voice shouted. I looked over to see Shadow being rolled by Miya in a wheelchair. Shadow had a big grin on his face.
"Woah...what happened to you?" I pointed at him.
"He was attacked by a crazy guy who was mad about his girlfriend breaking up with him. He believed to be all Shadow's fault." Miya raised an eyebrow at him, while he pointed at himself proudly.
"I was protecting my favorite manager! I'd rather get hurt than it being her!" His grin grew wider.
I rolled my eyes and smiled at him. "Good to know you're still you."
Miya glanced at Shadow one last time before turning to Sydney and I. "So...how's the new couple?"
"Great. She's still as cute as ever." I messed with her hair.
"Niki!~" She pouted. I chuckled at her being so adorable.
"Good to know." Miya made a face, then started to walk towards me. He stopped just beside my ear.
"How are you doing? With the whole parent situation, I mean." He whispered and glanced at me. I widened my eyes as he said that.
"Um...I've had time to process it? I'm actually not taking as well as I hoped..." I whispered back. "Sydney's letting me stay with her, which I got lucky for."
