Niki (A Sk8 The Infinity Fanfic)

Tonight, was the night of the first round of Adam's tournament.

I asked Sydney if she was coming again tonight, but she said no. She said there was a big test she really needed to study for.

It's a shame, but I understand.

The people who made it in the tournament were all had extremely high levels of skill when it comes to skateboarding. Cherry, Joe, Langa, Miya, Adam, Snake, Shadow, and of course, me.

The first match was Shadow against the Snake guy. It wasn't even close. Snake won by a longshot.

Just where did he come from?

The second match was Joe versus Langa. This one was closer, and Langa barely won. It was interesting to see Joe skate. Cherry kept referring to his "mountain of a body" as he used it while skating, and he wasn't wrong.

After Joe and Langa's match, Adam clapped his hands once again.

"Congratulations, Snow! You really go above and beyond to exceed my expectations. We're all so lucky to have you!" Adam said dramatically as he danced around on the stage.

"Alright, darlings. Why don't we see about the next beef?" Adam's tone suddenly changed as he pulled a card. The crowd cheered around us as they saw the card.

It was his own name on the card. Adam.

There was still Cherry, Miya, and I left. Which one of us would be skating against Adam?

"The only way I'll agree to the race..." Adam said as he tossed his card to the side. "...is if I'm guaranteed a good time." He picked up another card.

When he saw the name on the card, his face shifted from happy and giddy, to what seemed like annoyed.

He had chosen Cherry's card.

I looked over at Cherry, who was staring at Adam with a determined look on his face. Considering how he acted earlier, you think he'd be a bit more excited to race Adam.

"I do hate to disappoint, but here we are." Cherry said.

"I'll be the one going against Adam."

Adam and Cherry were up next, so Miya and I were the only ones left. Which meant...

...we were going to be racing each other for the first round.

I knew it was probably going to happen eventually, but I had no idea it was going to be so soon.

Even with all the surprise with the current beef, I guess Miya realized our fate too.

"Niki." He said, and I turned to him at the sound of his voice.

"I hope you know that I won't hold back. I've been practicing for this."

I chuckled at him. "I know you have."

Then, my expression changed to one of seriousness. "I won't hold back either, like I did in our first beef back. I intend to crush you with everything I've got, even if you are my best friend."

This time, it was Miya's turn to smile. "Good. I'm actually looking forward to this."

Go!

And just like that, Adam and Cherry were off. They both were going at incredible speeds. They made it past at least a sixteenth of the track in a matter of seconds.
