I teetered on my board back and forth. Reki and Langa just sat, waiting for my story. "Okay. I'll tell you."

"As you know, I got into S and skating when I bought a board from a shop at 14 years old. That wasn't the only thing I got into. I got into national skating too. Especially the Japanese teams."

"I watched every competition on my laptop when I could. It actually gave me ideas for tricks I could try. So when I found out I could go and watch one of the competitions live, I immediately bought tickets and went."

"I went and really enjoyed watching the skaters. They were so incredibly talented, and I even wrote a few notes down for my future reference."

"After the competition had finished, I stayed a little longer just to see all the skaters one last time. I went to go get a drink from the vending machine, but it had gotten stuck. I was fiddling with that thing for hours."

"I had eventually given up, because it was late. I was about to head out, until I heard someone talking."

"I turned around to find Miya Chinen standing over towards the exit, talking to three boys on his team. Chinen was the guy who got gold today. I was curious to see what was going on, so I went over."

"As it turned out, the boys were yelling at Chinen while he stood there, mortified."

"'We're nothing like you.' I recall them saying. 'Yeah, you're going to be the famous one.'"

"'You think you're so much better than us!' The front guy yelled at him."

"'No...no, I don't...' He said meekly.  He looked shocked. So shocked, he could barely speak."

"'You just want us to hang around to be your entourage.' They kept going at him. I wondered, were those his friends? Not his teammates? I thought I had recognized them, but I guess I didn't."

"'Not true...' Miya's eyes were shaking at this point."

"'Heroes don't associate with slimes. Didn't your manager teach you that?' He asked him rather coldly. Miya now looked like he was about to cry."

"I had enough of this. I went up to the situation and decided to step in."

"I stood in front of Miya, arms in front of him. 'Hey, knock it off. Aren't you supposed to be his friends? If so, then why are you acting like this?'"

"'This doesn't concern you, little girl!' He shot back. 'Get out of our way!'"

"'Excuse me? Little girl? Hell, I know I'm older than you at least!' I spat."

"'It doesn't matter! He was the one who became cocky because of his entire skating career!'"

"'Really? Or is that just you and your little tag-alongs becoming toxic and hating on people for succeeding? Maybe you should look at yourself first before you tell Chinen how to act!'"

"'You know his name? You must be one of his little fangirls, isn't that right? Aw, that's so cute. Chinen's having one of his fangirls sticking up for him. Even if he does that, he will always be the same. The stuck-up, winning, brat that won't ever have any real friends!'"

"I was getting more and more angry by the minute. I wasn't really a fan of Miya, I was a fan of the team as a whole. He was a liar."

"He kept blabbing about whatever, but I had enough of his shit. That's when I punched him. Right in the face."

"They were all surprised. They probably didn't expect me to punch him in the face, but he deserved it."

"I nodded towards the door. 'You may want to leave now, before I beat your ass to pieces.' They immediately took their leave."
