Kirrily's POV~

~Flashback~

"But Mummy! The big kids will tread all over my body! I'm too short to go to school! I don't want to go!" I winged blinking back tears as a barricade so they wouldn't escape my eyes. "But honey, you're smart enough! Shouldn't that help?" Mom cooed. I sighed stalking out of the house and into the car.

"Now that's a start!" Dad said. "Daddy!" I squealed and jumped into his arms as he lifted me up and span me around. "You came back!" I squealed again. "Well, I have to have a break from fighting big bad guys in the war sweetie! And I wouldn't miss your first day at big school either!" He smiled gently at me.

My mother walked over to him and kissed him on the lips. Something I don't want to see! "MUM! DAD! STOP!!! EEWWWWWIES YUCK!" I yelled covering my eyes.

"Alright let's get you to school." Mum said buckling me into the car, and hopping into the passenger seat while dad sat in the big driving seat, turning around to tell me, "in ten years, you'll be hoping you have someone to kiss. Just ya wait."

~Later that day at school~

"Bye Mummy! Bye Daddy!" I waved them goodbye before turning around and crashing into a boy with short blonde-brown hair.

"Ow!" I whimpered, picking myself of the ground.

"I'm sorry" the little boy whispered.

"What's your name?" I took the initiative and asked.

"I'm Niall." He grinned.

"I'm Kirrily." I beamed. "C'mon! Come with me! We can be best friends!" I grabbed his hand. I had a chance to make friends, and kids needed friends, so I thought why not?

"Really?" he said looking at me with wide-eyes.

"Yes! Really! Silly!" I rolled my eyes at him and pulled him to our classroom as we started telling each other about ourselves.

~Reality~

I can't believe how fast time flies by. It's Niall's 16th today. I still remember the day I met him. The shy, innocent little boy that I met at the tender age of 6 is now 16. Well, so am I but it's going too fast. Why can't time just slow down and then we could -

"Kirrily!" Kendra Bourne, my class buddy that I sit next to in English hissed.

"What?" I asked dumbly.

She slid me her homework so I could copy. "You never do your homework, so voila, you can copy off mine." she said with a wink.

"You know you should really come and sit with us at lunch time, I'm sure everyone-" I began.

"I think I'm fine where I am." she stated.

"Well if you ever change your mind, you know where to find me!" I said with a big smile.

"Thanks" She smiled back.

"KIRRILY! KENDRA!" Our heads snapped up at the sound of our English teacher, Miss. Colorado, yelling our names.

'SEPARATE NOW!" She bellowed.

"No thanks, I think I'm fine where I am." I ripped a line off Kendra's with a smug smirk.

"Don't you give me that attitude, Kirrily! This is your last warning" She snarled.

"Whatever." I muttered under my breath. I could see in the corner of my eye that Kendra was trying to hold in a fit of giggles but failing miserably.

Finally, the bell rang, ending the school day. I packed my bag and headed toward the front gate with Kendra trailing behind.

"Kendra?" I asked.
