~Kendra POV~
“Urgh! Why won’t it load?!” I shouted at my laptop. I had a research project to complete and ain’t nobody got time for a no good computer.
“Oh holy shit, no!” I leapt from my seat and slammed my palm on the desk.
“It’s not working again it is?” Kirrily shook her head.
“It’s suddenly off for the seventh time in a row today! How am I supposed to work on this device?” I glared at my laptop as if it would be of any help.
“Uh-oh. Call your parents and see if they can get you a new one maybe? You could fly back to Mullingar to pick it up; it’s still Easter break.” Kirrily suggested.
“They’re on holiday in Germany; kill me now.” I collapsed.
“Eh, we could go buy a new one together…” Kirrily tried to help. “You’re just gonna have to use your credit card?”
“Sounds like a plan.” I hugged my pillow and calmed down.
“Well, you wouldn’t mind if Niall joins us right? Cuz we, uh, hehe, kinda agreed on a date?” Kirrily giggled sheepishly, blushing a little.
I rolled my eyes at her. “Of course I wouldn’t mind. But tell him to bring Harry, or I’ll just have to be on my own while you two smooch and et cetera et cetera.”
“And who would have thought? You’d never know, like a bird flying in and pooping on your screen, and whilst you’re trying to get it off you scratch the screen and after a few weeks it annoys you so much that you chuck it at a wall and it smashes.” Kirrily mimicked my tone and teased me. Oh what an amazing friendship we have.
“Really? Do you know how long ago that was?” I laughed.
“Well what else could I have said?!” She held her hands up in defence.
“To be honest, I don’t know” I shook my head.
“Exactly. Now if you excuse me, I’m going to ring Niall.” She said breathlessly before walking out of the room.
Having nothing to do, I decided to have a little snoop around in Kirrily’s belongings. She wouldn’t have anything to hide right? I hope not. I came across a photo album. I picked it up and flicked through it. I stopped at a page that she must’ve made when we were 12 or 13. ‘So Sexy!’ was the title. I chuckled. Oh the things that go through that girl’s head sometimes. It had pictures of us at our swimming carnival, year 6 graduation. I flipped to the next page to find a single picture placed in the middle of the page. It was us two, me pulling a duck face and her smiling.
I smiled to myself at the picture, remembering the days back then when we dreamed about visiting other planets and shopping all day every day.
When we got all excited that Santa had come. And we had gotten a massive Cadbury Easter egg from the Easter bunny.
It’s like those days that really make you realize how precious time really is.
“Niall said that he’s gonna pick us up in 10, so hurry your butt up, and get out of those pajamas! It’s 12pm girl!” Kirrily said barging back into the room again.
I quickly shoved the album under the bed and cleared my throat. “Like you can talk! You’re still in your PJs!” I shoved her lightly.
“Yeah, yeah, just get a move on!” she shoved me in the direction of my closet.
I pulled out a pair of denim shorts, Ramones t-shirt and I grabbed a pair of my vans. Yes, I have more than one pair. Be jealous.
“Dress or skinny jeans?” Kirrily asked from the other side of the room.
