Evie was still steering the yacht after she had found out they missed Blackfire Island due to them all being unconscious. But soon she was able to see the island and she was quick to tell the boys that they had finally made it. Jay and Carlos celebrated by chest bumping each other. "Oh yeah! We're finally gonna get to Mal!" Carlos yelled out excitedly.

"I just hope we can get to her before it's too late. I would never be able to forgive myself if something happened to her." Evie said to them tearing up at the mere thought of losing her best friend.

"Evie, have you ever thought that you might be a little overprotective of Mal?" Carlos asked his friend.

"Someone has to be! If no one looks out for Mal, things like this happen. I care about her Carlos. A lot. And I know you do too." She replied sending him a wink after the last part. Carlos could feel himself turning a little red at that.

"Aw it's okay man. We all care about Mal. You just really care about her." Jay said clapping his friends back while laughing his head off practically. He and Evie knew full well about his ginormous crush on their purple-haired friend.

"Says the one who has a big fat crush on Audrey!" Carlos replied causing Jay to immediately stop his laughing.

"Hey, we do not speak of that." He whispered at him harshly.

"What?!" Evie yelled after hearing those word from Carlos. "Jay, you like Audrey?! How did I not notice it sooner?"

"See? This is why I don't tell you guys things." He said shaking his head at them.

"Ok enough of this love talk. We have a quest to begin, and I need you boys to get the anchor ready to be lowered." Evie said to them as they got closer and closer to the shores of Blackfire Island. She slowed the yacht down so when she made contact on the beach it wouldn't be fatal to the ship or anything. And when the anchor was lowered and they were safe on the shore, they got off the yacht and stared into the thick, dark, uninviting forest in front of them.

"Lets go find Mal." Evie stated confidently as they stepped forward, into the forest not knowing of the dangers that were in store for them.

It was growing dark as the sun was beginning to set, and Mal was tired from all the walking she had done that day. So she used the scepter to make a campsite appear right in front of her. She immediately had to sit down after getting light-headed from all the magic drained from her.

"Get your rest, Mal. You'll need your strength for what's ahead." Maleficent told her as Mal nodded her head before laying down to rest.

But it didn't last too long before a question popped into her head. "Hey mom? Why didn't you ever get a dragon scale to use fore yourself?" She asked her.

She heard her mother sigh before answering. "Well, I tried. But I was captured and thrown on the isle before I had the chance." She said. "You better not let me down again, Mal. I have always had hope that you would carry on my legacy and be the most powerful being in all of Auradon, and maybe one day, the whole world."

"Really mom?" Mal asked as she didn't know that was how her mother felt.

"Yes. Now I was serious about getting your rest. Go to sleep, Mal." Her mother firmly told her.

"Yes, mom. I won't let you down this time." She stated to her confidently before falling asleep.

"You better not." Were the last words she said for that day before disappearing into thin air.

Evie and the boys had been hiking through the forest for quite awhile and were beginning to grow tired, but that was when they stumbled upon an old cabin. Evie knew Mal probably wasn't in there, but that wasn't gonna stop her from looking anyway. "Lets see if Mal's in here." She said to the 3 boys as she walked inside.

Jay looked in all the bedrooms, Henry looked in all the closets and extra rooms, and Evie and Carlos looked everywhere else. But there was no sign of Mal anywhere, just like Evie suspected. "Well, looks like she's not here. I guess that means we just continue on from here."

And with that, they walked out of the cabin and got back to trekking through the forest. "Evie? Do you think Mal might have been in that cabin?" Carlos asked her.

"There's no way to know for sure, but it's definitely a very good possibility. Even if she was here though, she's long gone by now." She told him. "Which is exactly why we don't have time for any more stops along the way. Mal has no idea we came after her which means she's going to make several pit stops for rest and things. So if we ever want to catch up with her, we cannot stop."

"Not even to sleep?" Carlos asked as he listened to her every word.

"We can sleep, but not for very long. It would only be for an hour or two at most." She replied.

"WHAT?!" Jay yelled not even believing what had just been said.

"Jay, Mal has got an almost 5 day head start on us. We can't afford any more time on us. The scepter could take over Mal at any time, and we can't risk not getting to her in time." Evie said to him hoping that he would understand.

Jay sighed as he ran his hands down his face. "I guess I can get that." He replied.

"Yeah same, I really want to get to Mal too." Henry added. Evie smiled at them all, happy that they understood. She had to keep believing that they would get to Mal on time.
