The Silent One

Chapter 2

Natsu, Happy, and Y/N continued to laugh together with others around them occasionally joining in with them for a moment.

Lucy then jogged over to their table, showing off her guild mark.

"Natsu, look! They just gave me the Fairy Tail mark!"

Natsu looked at her hand and swallowed the chunk of meat he was eating.

"That's great for you, Luigi!"

"That's Lucy!"

Y/N slightly giggled at Natsu's mispronunciation and finally knowing Lucy's name, saying "Welcome to our family, Lucy-nee!"

Lucy's eyes widen a bit, her eyes sparkling with happiness.

"Thanks, Y/N!"

And she picked the tiny girl up, and swinging her around, saying "We're gonna be the best of the friends!"

Y/N laughed at her antics, spreading her arms apart like she was flying.

Lucy then let Y/N down, where she walked over to the bar to get a cup of juice for herself, as she was thirsty herself.

As she walks over there, she heard Romeo, the youngest kid in the guild, asking the master about something that she couldn't hear exactly, so she walked closer.

"Is my daddy back yet?"

"No, don't complain so much, Romeo. The son of a wizard should stay at home, patiently waiting for his father's safe return."

Y/N had unconsciously turned into a fist, gritting at Makarov's words.

As much as she loved Makarov, she couldn't believe that he had spoken those words to Romeo, he was only worried about his dad.

"But... he said he'd be back in 3 days, and now it's been a whole week," Romeo said, trying not to let his tears come out of his eyes.

Makarov sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose, trying to calm Romeo.

"If I remember, Macao found some work at Hakobe Mountain-"

"It isn't that far away!" Romeo shouted, interrupting Makarov's sentence.

"Please go look for him, I'm so worried!"

Makarov then snapped at Romeo's pleading, which he said had broken Y/N's, own heart.

"Don't even joke about that! Your father is a wizard, isn't he? Any wizard who can't hack the easy stuff doesn't belong in the guild! Go home and drink some milk or something!"

Suddenly, Y/N's legs moved on their own and stood in front of Romeo in a protective way.

"Ji-chan, please just look for Uncle Macao! If you're not gonna send anyone to look for Uncle Macao, I'll look for him myself, and nobody going to stop me!"

Y/N then grabbed the younger body to her hand, and they both walked out together of the guild, both wiping the tears off their face.

They continued walking down the path of the road and would have continued if Romeo hadn't stopped.

Romeo had removed his palm from the older girl's hand, leaving her warmth and wiping his tears that were leaking out on their own.

"I don't believe it..."

Y/N watched Romeo in pity, starting to walk ahead to go to the Hakobe Mountain before she felt a larger hand the was rubbing her hair.

She looked up, to see a certain salmon hair teenager's face being very serious, and walked his way to the train station, his eternal enemy.
