Chapter 9

Everyone in the stadium was getting seated as the wizards paid close attention to what Chaptai had to say about today's round.

"This is a race. Competitors must run along with these connected war chariots and reach the goal without falling."

"Still, this isn't any normal race." The old man added.

The reporter who replaced Jenny wasn't helping much with the rules, shouting "Cool!" every 5 minutes.

Chaptai, ignoring what was going on besides him, continued with the rules.

"The war chariots will be constantly moving, so even a momentary lapse in concentration could lead to a crucial mistake. The course runs through the famous old neighborhood of Crocus! So, which team will be the first to cross the finish line at Domus Flau Stadium?!"

Holographic screens started to pop out of the air, showing each participant that was heading onto a chariot.

Surprisingly, Uzui decided to join this one.

"I'll show how flamboyant I am!" He exclaimed, doing a pose at the holographic screen, as all of us slayers just facepalmed at his actions.

But looking at who was participating by the Guilds, both Fairy Tail members and Sabertooth were being a fool. The moment the chariots even move the slightest, they all just fell to their knees.

Tomioka muttered"So their weaknesses are all motion sickness? I wonder why..."

"Ara? Did Tomioka-san wonder about others for once?" Shinobu snickered, focusing back on the screen above us.

"But do they have the same 'magic' perhaps, or just some bad body part that doesn't work well with transportation? But that would be a coincidence though, not every day do you see the 3 people who have the same weaknesses..."

Shinobu thought out loud, with the rest of us sweatdropping at her theory.

"But if these 3's weaknesses were transportation, then why even join this round?..."

"Well, fewer people to worry about I mean, the better chance for Uzui to win!" Rengoku spoked, with the rest of the Hashiras nodding.

"Far behind the leading group is Natsu of Fairy Tail A, looking incredibly groggy!" Chaptai pointed out as the screen had its attention to the white-scaled scarf boy.

"And he isn't alone! Just steps ahead of him is Gajeel of Fairy Tail B and Sting of Sabertooth, both also looking groggy!"

Shaking my head in disappointment, I clearly had high hopes for Fairy Tail, but they're just a sad excuse. Couldn't even think for a moment about their weaknesses and just went ahead to join a game.

"What could this mean, Yajima-san?" Chaptai sweated, as Yajima said his theory of why the boys were sick. Jason was not helping the slightest bit, and that eventually, Chaptai had to ask him to tone it down with his "Cool!"

"Now let's look at the lead group... Whoa, this is extreme dead heat, and it's only getting more extreme! At the front is Demon Slayer Corp's Uzui Tengen! Behind him is Kurohebi of Raven Tail, Ichiya from Blue Pegasus, Yuka of Lamia Scale, Mermaid Hell's Lislie, and slightly separated from them is the reservist from Quatro Cerberus, Bacchus!"

"SHOW THEM WHO'S THE BOSS, UZUI, OR I'LL SHOVE YOUR KATANAS UP YOUR ASS!" Both Obanai and Shinazugawa yelled, rooting for him.

As the participants behind Uzui were catching up with their own magic, one particularly stood out to me, which was Quatro Cerberus's member. He stomped his feet to the surface of the Chariot, and all the chariots that were connected to the one he was on had swung all the participants but Uzui off, allowing him to catch up to Uzui.
