Ah, But I Like 'em Rough

Brantley's POV:
"Babe, you ready?" I said from outside the bathroom door. Since we had arrived a day early we had decided to get a hotel room so that we could have a little more room. Tonight we were all going to Clancey's Tavern. We had managed to make it to town a day early so we had some time to kill. Plus, this would give Bailey and Brinleigh the night they wanted out on the town even though Bailey wasn't able to drink with Brin.

Walking back over to the sofa in the hotel room, I let my thoughts drink back to the night we told Brin and Chase that we were expecting. I couldn't help but shutter because Brinleigh had thought it was hilarious to go into great detail about it all. When Brinleigh started describing what contractions really were and what they did to your body, I knew that I was scared for life. I had swore right then and there that I would not -at any cost- be looking down to see my son's head pop out of the birth canal. Nope. In fact, I had joked about paying to have reconstructive surgery done because I just knew that sex would no longer be the same. I knew what I carried around with between my legs but knowing a baby's head popped out of there had me thinking that I would never be able to please my girl again. Chase and Brinleigh had made it a mission to prove that just because a baby came out of that particular spot, it didn't mean that pleasuring was impossible if the noises that Bailey and I had heard over our own extracurricular activities had been any indication. The two of them had been walking funny the next morning with shit-eating grins plastered on their faces.
The sound of the bathroom door pulled me from my thoughts. Looking up, I saw Bailey standing there in cut off shorts and a fitted tee- both of which were maturity wear- while her hair was tied up with a yellow bandana. Once again, I was struck by just how beautiful she truly is. Even dressed in something as simple as cut-offs and a tee, she was still the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. The fact that she was carrying my son made her even more beautiful in my eyes.

Standing from my spot on the couch, I walked over to her and placed my hands on either side of her face and lowered my lips to hers. Slowly, I poured every ounce of love I felt for her into it, just to show her again and again how much she meant to me and how happy I was that we were working things out. Before things could get too hot and heavy though, I broke the kiss and looked down at her, getting lost in the green of her eyes.

"You look beautiful." I whispered.

"Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself." she replied, taking in my outfit. I wasn't dressed in anything special. I was pretty much dressed like always- jeans, black tee, my rings and chains, and my ball cap on backwards.

"Let's go meet Chase and Brinleigh before I change my mind about going out and take you to bed instead." I said huskily, knowing that she would be just fine with me taking her to bed even after she had spent so much time getting ready.

After meeting up with Chase and Brinleigh in the lobby, we all piled into the cab and headed over to Clancey's Tavern. The place was known for having celebrities pop in and out. As we rode over, I caught myself wondering just who we would see there tonight. Last time I was there I ran into Blake Shelton. The two of us had partied hard that night and drank way more that I could even try to remember. Only reason I knew that I had gotten trashed that night was because Ben had been with us and had been in charge of making sure we made it back to the hotel in one piece.
When the cab stopped in front of the bar, I grabbed Bailey by the hand and climbed out. Once outside, we waited for Chase and Brinleigh to join us on the curb before walking up to the door. The four of us walked in and Chase and Brinleigh quickly went towards the bar while I found a booth near the stage. Bailey and I had just sat down when the artist performing tonight took the stage.

"Oh my god babe, that's Toby Keith!" said Bailey excitedly.

"Yes ma'am it is." I said, smirking. I'd met so many people throughout my career that I very rarely was starstruck so it was always refreshing to see Bailey anytime that she met a new artist for the first. Especially one that's a megastar like Toby.

I watched as the band got ready and Toby began engaging with the crowd. It didn't take long before the music started. I caught myself smiling and dancing around in my seat as Toby sang How do you like me now. As the song wrapped up, Toby saw me sitting near the stage and smiled.

"Clancy's Tavern, how y'all doing tonight? I see some familiar faces in the crowd tonight. How about I pull one of those familiar faces up here to sing a song with me?" said Toby, causing the crowd to go wild. "Well alright. Yall help me welcome Mr. Brantley Gilbert to the stage!"

"Wish me luck." I said to Bailey as I stood from my chair and jumped up onto the stage. I was immediately handed a mic.

"What's up y'all? Y'all doing alright tonight?" I said. Once again, the crowd roared. Looking down at the table I had just left, I saw Chase and Brinleigh take a seat. Bailey had dragged her cell phone out to record me up on stage. Blowing her a kiss, I focused back on Toby. "Alright Toby, you got me up here, what are we singing?"

"Well, I was thinking of something a little stronger. Something with a little more edge if you know what I mean?" Said Toby. The band started playing the opening chords to Whiskey Girl.

"Yeah man, I think I know whatcha mean. Clancey's, yall wanna hear Whiskey Girl?" I said into the mic. The crowd roared yes. "Well let's do this!"

Toby started the song and I joined in from time to time. When it was time for the second chorus, Toby nodded for me to take it. As if I had sang the song a million times, I belted out the second verse.

Baby got a '69 mustang
Four on the floor, and you ought to hear the pipes ring
I jump behind the wheel and it's away we go
Hey, I drive too fast, but she don't care
Blue bandanna tied all up in her hair
Just sittin' there
Singin' every song on the radio
She ain't into wine and roses
Beer just makes her turn up her nose
And, she can't stand the thought of sippin' champagne
No Cuervo Gold Margaritas
Just ain't enough good burn in Tequila she needs
Somethin' with a little more edge and a little more plain
She's my little whiskey Girl
She's my little whiskey Girl
My Ragged-on-the-edges girl
Ah, but I like 'em rough

Toby and I finished off the song and the crowd went wild. But even over all the people, I heard Bailey and Brinleigh screaming the loudest. Taking a bow, I thanked Toby for pulling me up to sing with him. I hugged Toby and jumped down off the stage and joined Bailey, Brinleigh, and Chase at our table to enjoy the rest of the show.
