Why do people make fun of themselves or mock themselves for their comfort character/characters being broken or like, I guess just not perfect? Example: Two of my comfort characters from Harry Potter are Neville Longbottom and Remus Lupin. Neville is shy and reserved, forgetful and clumsy, all around he's a sweetheart and then becomes the best version of himself. Remus is a werewolf that had to handle losing all his friends in a short time, but he faced a war again while knowing there'd be so much loss and even found love when he thought he wasn't worth it or too broken to be loved. Your comfort characters can say a lot about you and they can even be the encouragement you need to keep going and growing. Neville grew, slowly but surely became confident in himself and remained the sweetheart he always was. Remus faced trails and tribulations, he dealt with heartache and despite protest in the beginning that he wasn't worth it, he found love. We search to be understood and from what I've found, your comfort characters are a visualization of that feeling of being understood. So please don't mock yourself, or make fun of yourself for your comfort characters and yeah, you're welcome :)
