his soon-to-be wife.

He was sent to war,
not knowing
what he was fighting for.

He met a new friend.
They made a pact
for a dead man's end.

But neither of them
ever came home.
The words they spoke

Forever gone.

Two soldiers,
now rest in peace.
But a mother's heart
was never set at ease.
