Chapter 53

Chapter 53 - Groggily, she reached over for Chi Cheng but noticed that the little kiddo was missing. (1)  

Chi Ying paused for a little bit before rubbing her eyes and struggled. "Can you please stay away from me? I really don't want to see you at all.

"Don't think that just because you are the CEO of Oushi, you are high and mighty and I must like you like all the other girls do.

"I don't like you and don't treat us like that."

Her tone was mean but she was, after all, drunk. Even when she was being mean she sounded milky. Her voice lowered and she was choking back her tears toward the end.

Lu JingYan felt his heart tightened and, placing his finger over her red and soft lip, he said, "Stop."

He took his jacket off and put it over her. His voice was magnetic and taut. "Didn't anyone ever told you to not drink outside? Don't you know that it's very dangerous to run out like this?"

Chi Ying blinked a few times quietly and her eyes became misty. Her eyelashes fluttered.

Lu JingYan sighed and held her gently. "Listen. I don't care what you think of me. I just want you to be save, alright?"

"ChengCheng?" Chi Ying still has a headache when she opened her eyes. She reflexively reached over next to her and all she felt was the cold bedframe.

Chi Ying paused all of a sudden.

She looked around herself quickly. This was the dormitory of the performing school.

The sky wasn't completely bright yet. A thin layer of the morning sun poured in through the window and there was nobody else inside the dormitory.

Why was she in the dormitory?

Zhao Wan just finished getting ready and walked inside the room with a basin. Seeing that Chi Ying was sitting up, she couldn't help but started shrieking. "OOOOOOOOOOOMMMMGGGG, Ying! Guess who brought you back?!"

Baffled, Chi Ying scratched her hair. Being hungover make it difficult for her to recall what happened the night before. "Who?" She asked.

Zhao Wan patted herself on her chest and said, "Me!"

"Oh, thank you, WanWan." Chi Ying smiled and said, "Sorry for the trouble."

"...Not a problem at all." Zhao Wan had a secretive look on her. "I was the one who brought you back, but guess who handed you to me?"

Chi Ying shook her head.

Zhao Wan plopped the basic heavily on top of the table and said excitedly, "It was Lu JingYan!! Lu JingYan, you know?! His suit jacket was on top of you and you were leaning in his chest. Oh, my gosh. Both of you were so good looking I thought I was watching some sort of a drama!!"

Chi Ying, "....!!!"

Wang Xiao gave her the play by play. "We were singing karaoke last night and you walked out at some point, probably to the bathroom, but then you never came back.

"I felt quite awful when I noticed that you were gone. I should have kept an eye out on you.

"Then Qu YiZhe and I went looking for you and ran into Lu JingYan bringing you back. All my guilt conscience was gone that very moment. Woo woo woo, Ying. He's so handsome and you are so lucky."

Chi Ying took a deep breath and tried very hard to process what Zhao Wan was telling her. Worried, she asked, "Did I say anything?"

"When I saw you, you were already sound asleep. Boy, oh, boy. Who gets so drunk just from cocktails? My roommate is taking a class where she needed to participate for in-person experience at some remote location. She wasn't going to be back last night so I just brought you back with me."

Chi Ying forced a smile and said, "You are so nice to me."

"Oh, knock if off." Zhao Wan looked at her watch. "Hurry up and get ready. We are running late for our morning practice!"

"What time is it now?"

"5:58 AM!!"
