Chapter 11

Eliza POV

I felt a killer headache worse than any hangover and bruised all over. What was wrong with me? I opened my eyes to be greeted by dazzling Hazel ones.

“Ah, you are awake now, Miss Smith?” The Hazel eyes announced.

“Where am I?” I rasped, I was incredibly thirsty, I tried to sit but the pounding of my head stopped me.

“Here.” Hazel eyes, handed me pink juice. “You are in the rest room, honey.” I sat up, more cautiously and gratefully I took the drink, gulping the liquid down, it tasted like someone had put perfume with honey.

Coughing, “What is in that?” I asked.

“Iron with a hint of raspberry, you lost a lot of blood” Hazel eyes smiled.

  “Who are you?”  I blurted.

“Oh I am truly sorry, I am getting away ahead of myself. I am Doctor Penelope Jacken. I will be caring for you whilst you are here.” My drink spluttered out of my mouth.

“Why am I here?” I asked shocked.

  “Can you not remember?”

  “No.”

“Must be the head injuries.” Penelope sighed. “Okay, Eliza I am going to be dead straight with you. People are going to try to protect you from this, but I believe that you are not the kind of girl who likes to be kept in the dark.” I nodded.  Penelope paused.

“A member of the pack tried to attack and abuse you. You have multiple head injuries and both of your legs are broken.”  I breathed in sharply and looked under the sheets, there was my two legs plastered up in a cast. I looked up at her in terror.

“How long am I going to be like this?” I gulped.

“Don’t worry with your werewolf blood; you will be as fit as a fiddle by the end of the weekend.” Penelope explained. I sighed with relief.

“Soo..what have I missed?” I half heartedly joked. Penelope gave me a serious look telling me that my condition was not at all funny.

“Eliza, let me remind you that you are seriously ill, you were out for nearly a day and if Noah hadn’t had found you when he did you would most likely be dead.”

“What, Noah save me?” I asked, stunned. My mate saved me, without him I wouldn’t be alive.

“Yes, you should be very grateful.” Penelope replied.

  “Wow.” I breathed.

“Hmmm.” Penelope murmured, transfixed by the notes of my health. We sat in silence whilst she read the notes. “Eliza, you seem stable and I am sure you will be fine. But I want you to say in bed today and then tomorrow you can start moving around the house. I don’t think me placing you in bed rest for the weekend will work.” Penelope smiled.

“Great.” I grimaced. I really wanted to get out of here; I wanted to be free and not have to worry about my life. I wanted my life to have no strings and be unattached.

“Well if you do not need me anymore I will be leaving and I will check up on you in the afternoon.” Penelope dismissed herself.

  “Doc.” I called.

  “Yep.” Penelope turned around.

“I would like to speak to Jed, can you ask him to come down?” I asked.
