Chapter 22

Eliza’s POV
I sat in the well worn leather chair, relaxing my tired body.
“Did he say why he wanted me?” I asked Mark coolly, who was perched on the arm of my chair. I nervously looked at my outfit, the moment I had got home from my jog, Mark had pulled into Jed’s study ordering me to sit in the office with no clues into why I was needed to see the Alpha, however I think I was in a lot of trouble.
“Just wait.” He sighed.
I did wait. For four hundred and sixty seven seconds exactly before the door opened. Yes, I counted, another way of my mind staying sane. I looked up at the angel standing before me; of course Noah had to be here. My whole body tensed as he sat next to me but at the same time went into frenzy in need to be near him. I looked at my hand seeing the deadly green vines entwining around my fingers, I gasped inwardly; pulling my sweater over my hands.
We waited in awkward silence; I could sense Noah glancing at me every few seconds however I refused to look at him. I wanted nothing to do with him. Finally Jed entered the room; after Mark and I’s conversation in the car I couldn’t help but look at him in a different light. I had hated him. Even loathed him for adopting me and forcing me into this life however I couldn’t help but pity him. He had lost his best friend, someone he had grown up with and loved. I had loved my parents yet I had only known them for nine years of my life whilst Jed had known him for many more.
It was tempting to tell him who I was and what I was planning, but would he understand? If I did he would he declare war? But it could never happen many innocent lives would be slaughtered because of me. Noah could die. The thought was like putting another needle to my stone cold heart.
“Sorry for the long wait.” Jed interrupted my thoughts. “I will just get to the point, as we all have busy lives, because of the recent events and Eliza’s incredible training. We have decided that Eliza will join us in training and you will be training with Noah.” My head snapped up. They wanted me to train with them. I had seen and heard rumours of the warriors; they are terrifying and very very big. Most were men because of their size, they would dwarf me.
“No!” I heard the shatter of the expensive chair being thrown to the wall. “I will not have my mate being killed.” Noah roared. I just blocked out the sound listening to the sound of the ticking clock waiting till it struck midnight.
“Your mate?” Mark shouted. “You having been nothing more but pain for her.”
Ten seconds till twelve o’clock
“You don’t know anything!” Noah snarled. Mayhem had started the tension had grown too far for too long, Noah was seconds away from tearing Mark’s face to pieces.
“I know Eliza much better than you ever will.” Mark threatened.
Five seconds till midnight.
“That’s because you are in love with her! I forbid you to be near her! She’s mine!” Noah snarled.
As I sat hear listening to the people I love argue about my future I couldn’t but think of when the clock struck twelve Cinderella’s life fell apart. Maybe my life was planned like Cinderella’s. Maybe it was supposed to shatter and crumble so it be could fixed by my prince.
But my Prince was never coming he was with the ugly sister.
“Enough!” I screamed. I grabbed five knives from my pocket, I easily flicked the first into the air it planted itself into Noah’s white shirt above his right shoulder pinning him to the wall. Swiftly I threw the others enclosing him to the wall.
