On his way back to the castle Hunter purposely got into a fight so that when he was kneeling before his Great-Uncle he looked like he was through hell.
"I heard about your accident my Nephew. How is it that you crashed?"
"Although the cage blocked there magic the three rebels where able to shake the cage so violently it sent myself and them spiraling. After I awoke they were gone, along with the stolen palisman, I spent most of the next day looking for them but to no avail."
"Is that all?"
"Yes my lord."
The Emperors tone suddenly shifted from caring to severe.
"Are you sure?"
"Uncle?"
"Don't take me for a fool Hunter. After your failure to retrieve the palismen I knew you had betrayed me, Kikimora confirmed it. Instead of punishing you right then in there I gave you a second chance, this mission was a test, I had a guard watch you from a far. You betrayed me Hunter, and that is unforgivable."
Hunter's heart raced, however he was not scared.
"Strike at me then, I am long used to your punishments, to the pain, you will not be able to hurt me as you would like."
"Oh Hunter, you miss understand, I need you, as head of my Coven I need you for the Day of Unity."
Suddenly Belos' eyes began to glow dangerously bright.
"So, if you will not give me your loyalty willingly, I will take it by force!"
Belos pointed at Hunter, his finger glowed red. Suddenly Hunter's Coven tattoo glowed red as well and started burning, but that was nothing compared to what happened next. Golden magic tentacles emerged from the mark, and quickly and painfully started ensnaring his entire body."
"Uncle..?"
"I will see you at the Day of Unity, good night Hunter."
And with that everything went black.
Am I sorry for ending it like this? Not really. It was the plan ever since I watched episode 7, and I did warn you not to keep reading. Anyway thank you to all of those who have been sending such support as I wrote, your comments mean a lot. Depending on what happens in the next few episodes I may write a sequel which will align somewhat with events post episode 7, however if I don't I will just say now Hunter will be released and he will be reunited with Luz, Rascal, and of course Edric. I just needed to finish this in angst as I couldn't see this story ending truly happily. Thanks again for reading, comments are always welcome.
